NEW ANNOUNCEMENT

I'm excited to announce that all units placed during the Group Buy will now get a free thumb control system when the system is ready for shipping.

That is freaking awesome! :hurray:

Willis - I have couple of technical question related to power solution...

DJI-Ronin-5LR.jpg

I was originally thinking of using the rear REDVOLT XL module with the XL batteries - which would also provide power to the Tomahawk and RT Motion.
But from the above pic it looks like there isn't much space behind the camera.
Once heavier PL lens + MB + filters + FI-motors are added to the front - the camera would have to be shifted even further back for CG balance...

My questions are...:

How deep of a extension for accessories can the Ronin tolerate behind the DSMC brain without obstructing the tilting ability of the gimbal (being able to point straight down)...?
For example would the +1 module fit (http://www.red.com/store/products/plus1-monitor-adaptor)...?

Thanks

Great question Peter! I haven't seen the Ronin with a normal to heavy cine lens and rear accessories in action. It seems like maybe the beta testing since NAB might have revealed this geometry issue so (according to Willis) DJI is now working on a Ronin XL version that will have longer yoke arms. This will be the model RED users like yourself might want to be able to utilize REDmote, XL Volt and +1 Modules with Cine Lenses and/or clip on matte box. Not sure if the Ronin XL is going to be a user upgrade or require a new Ronin purchase. Perhaps Willis can address this

Still waiting to hear from AMP.. Have others been contacted or am I lost in the system or something?

Willis previously posted something to the effect: all the orders and the "Interested" list goes to DJI China to sort out and deside who gets what and when

The timeline looks something like this:

The link will expire at 6pm PST today.
China will wake up at 6pm PST today.
They will be sorting out the list and put it in the order of interest.
Then they will transmit the list to the designated dealers.
Technically, dealers will have 48hours to get organized for pre-payment deposit
Depending on the dealer, the latest is Tuesday of next week, but soonest would be tomorrow.

I'll push for expedited calls / emails on my end.
Thanks guys!

Thats an interesting question to have an answer on really soon!

RoninXL is a Ronin with optional longer arms. Therefore user upgradable.

Currently going through testing. Going very well.

Dear friends in the RedUser community,
This is a reminder that there is 10 minutes remaining on the Group Buy link: https://store.dji.com/buy/ronin-group-buy

Also, another reminder that the link simply logs in your information to send off to your preferred dealer. The dealer will have 2 business days to get in contact w/ you to collect a $500 refundable deposit. This will lock your discount & bonus accessories in. If you choose not to purchase it when they have it in stock few weeks from today, then you can feel free to collect your deposit back.

Thank you for all your support. Let me know if there are any questions.

If you look closely at the picture - the arms are modular. It looks like 2 bolts on each end and you can just swap yourself. We will need however a longer signal cable to the IMU and pitch motor. Hopefully there is enough slack in the existing ones, but knowing how sturdy DJI's connectors are - it should be rather straightforward procedure to swap for a longer ones...

Question remains how much will the longer arm (and a longer cables if needed) cost...

Past the 2 day mark... I hope I'm not lost in the shuffle with the LA vendor.

I never got an e-mail confirmation after submitting the form - is that normal? I would've expected some kind of confirmation...

Willis did say that all the info from the form will be first sorted out by DJI in order of interest posted in this group buy. Once that is done - the relevant info will be provided to the respective resellers, who will then contact us directly with their specific offer and ask to pay a refundable deposit of $500,- USD.
He said at the earliest we can expect emails this Friday, but no later then Tuesday next week...

Patience my friends - almost there... ;o)

The form was set up (and ajusted) real quick from DJI, I think it's normal that we didn't receive a confirmation mail. I'm confident that this will work out tho! Just hoping that we Europeans won't have too much delay and that the price translates well from USD.
Can't wait to get my hands on the Ronin :)

Same here, Jean-Christophe - I'm located in Denmark :-)
