  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

+1! Willis, could you please update before the 6th how the non-us regions will be handled. Having import duty etc on top of it is often killing the group buy deal for us Europeans. (At least from my point of view) What about support in Europe etc? It would also be great to know what the amount of import duty would be if that is possible. Thanx a ton!
 
Just wondering; is it possible to put a RED Brick / Global Media Pro brick on the back of the camera and onto the DJI Ronin?

If not, are there any other solution to power it up without using the redvolts in the DSMC Sidehandle?

Does this still work with "When the time comes, the Ronin kits will be distributed in the order of the list from the people that's paid." (post #701) ? Or is it becoming a free for all?

I don't mind the import tax or VAT that much actually (because reasons), but what kills me is the often massive shipping cost when ordering heavy gear from the USA.
 
True, Petri. To me it's actually all of it. But shipping costs we usually know about before and can decide then... It's sad that it's still so expensive to have something ship to europe.
 
If there is no EU dealer it's bad news for me.

I'm an independent freelancer so I'm not a VAT-registered person, therefore VAT is not deductible.

The standard VAT rate for importing items into Romania is 24%. VAT is calculated on the value of the goods, plus the international shipping costs and insurance, plus any import duty due.

So I have to pay an extra 24% * (Cost of RONIN + shipping + import duty)...

On the other hand, if I buy form a EU dealer there is no VAT.

Based on what ever the deal is going to be announced today (it is 6/6 here already) - you may want to hold off and wait, as I am sure there will be an EU distributor soon.
You need to weigh in the saving from the GB against the saving by buying from an EU distributor a bit later. You may also want to consider the time (and associated income) lost...
Another issue is going to be after-sale servicing and support. The million-dollar question then becomes if any official Ronin reseller will be obliged to honour warranty and servicing/support needs of customers who bought their Ronin from another distributor...
Potentially a tough choice depending on the GB deal announced...
