Is there any footage taken with the gimbal? I've seen plenty of footage of the gimbal in action but would like to see some from a camera mounted on it.

No need for me . . . you can see what will be shot by watching the camera/gimbal move

I have seen fantastic movement on the Movi and then I have seen people complain about the results they are getting. I'm sure it is awesome which means it should be easy to show some awesome results.

Probably an NDA on dealers shooting footage at this point since they are still protos. Anything from a factory source is suspect (Warp post) so you have to look at the product in motion and then parties representing it and make your best bet. DJI has been making Octo gimbals for years - AMP likewise. DJI knows what they are doing and have 1500 employees to get shit produced and shipped. It will happen and it will be solid.

Respectfully, NO.

It is interesting how people don't even want to know how stable it is. Zeb do you know what the Ronin stabilizes to? Do you know how to determine the level of stabilization?

Tell me if from 3:32 to 3:35 he got the shot?

I get good results now from my own hillbilly non-powered gimbal rig. The DJI is the EZ button my friends - if you can't get smooth results with it then hire someone who can ;-)

From the pictures and theoretically DJI Ronin looks like it will set a new standard for
gimbal features and performance. For example. The one button auto tune feature
that will set the motors for whatever camera/lens combo is huge....if it works.
We haven't seen it function yet. Know someone not in the union who was able to
work on a union film as a Movi tech because there is no union position for this yet.
But if all you have to do is press a button well than an AC can easily take over that job..
..again if it works as advertised.

Other thing to consider is this post from the thread link below...it's kind of an eye-opener since
very few of us here have experience dealing with DJI and the MR Multi Rotar world.
Really reminds me of the complaints people are having with Black Magic Design now.

Nuff said. Once again, specs look good, but with DJI in question, it does not mean the gimbal would actually work at all as advertised. Take my experience with 5D Zenmuse: First came with broken tilt motor and I was unable to even test it, the other had around 20-30 degrees of horizontal drift. DJI was about to send me a third one after maybe 50 emails, but my reseller kindly offered to take the Zen 5D gimbal back and replace it with a Movi M5.

DJI pouring out new products all the time clearly don't have the ability or time to finish their products to an acceptable level. I would never buy this Ronin one because I don't like the high probability of being frustrated and angry with a 5K product. What´s more it is a shameless ripoff of the Movi M10. Even the stand is an exact copy.

Thought you were going with the BeSteady?

Hehe...nah..just got tired of all the besteady people complaining when they got
an awesome deal on that group buy.
But have seen posts by BeSteady 1 users complaining their gimbals
broke and they couldn't get parts..so no company has a 100% rating so far.
It's the internet if you search for bad reviews you can find them out there.

So far DJI looks the best construction/feature wise. But still we need to see final version motors..how
the auto tune works and footage.

On the Internet, if you are motivated to do so, you can probably find a negative service comment from someone who won the lottery . . . "bags of money were too heavy to carry and the staff would not help load into my car. Never coming back!!"

I expect DJI to go the Toyota / Lexus route (setting up a premium level dealer network) since they currently sell some $10 RC parts through mail order and Hobby Lobby so cannot be expected to provide Hollywood Studio service as would be expected of a $5,000 professional product without market based service segmentation. Also, in setting up this Group Buy set-up I included a local, knowledgeable and RED trusted Dealer in AMP. Our deal and support relationship with be with AMP/Patrick Smith so I don't expect to have to send "50 emails" to anyone 13 time zones away to get a service issue resolved.

That all said . . . this is a 1st gen product so it will have some issues which is why I look at strength of the companies behind the product/service. For those that want 100% reliability you might want to stand on the sidelines for a couple years until everything settles. I'm jumping into the pool now with DJI/AMP to get the party started
