Hey everyone so I've been looking for a Director/Client monitor around 19-21 inches large for under 2K. I've narrowed it down to two options, the Atomos Sumo 19M and the Osee LCM215-HDR, but I'm open to any other suggestions.

Based on my research I feel like the benefits of the Sumo 19M is that it offers multi-cam, a more intuitive UX, touch screen (some might like it, while others might hate it), slightly brighter screen (1,000 vs 1,200 nits), they update the firmware occasionally and somewhat better customer service. The dislikes I've read is their QC (customers sending back brand new units), the colors aren't very accurate, the image looks "crunched", no handle when carrying, loud fans, doesn't come with any accessories.

The Osee LCM215-HDR has a better quality (colors etc) and slightly larger screen and the kit price is cheaper (1300 vs 1600 USD) and offers a few additional accessories like sun shade, battery mount etc. The dislikes I've read is that they don't have any customer service, no multi-cam feature and loud fans.

Any additional advice/input would be really appreciated!! Thanks!!

I will be in NJ, 08879 area between Nov 28th to Dec 10th with the monitor. Feel free to come by if you want any test...

Edit: (lol) Osee LCM215-HDR

I've used both, but barely. Just purchased a 21 inch osee, which was been on two jobs and performed well.

We rented the Atmos on one job, and it has a fan...which caused us to have to move it around more than necessary. We were also told it was multicam, but the firmware was not yet installed. It looks great, just annoyed me on the day.

The Osee has fan too and doesn’t have a multicam option. Any reason you went with Osee vs the Sumo?

True, Osee fan has been a non factor on set thus far. I believe the monitor does have PIP to get two up as far as multicam goes. Purchased the 21 inch as the 15.6 worked well for me in the past, and in a situation where you don't need something top of the line it works great.

Would you say that the Osee is good/accurate enough for a dp to judge lighting/color on the set? Been pretty happy with the TvLogic LVM-171A in the past, just wondering how this Osee would compare.

Sorry fella' (lol)
We have Osee LCM215-HDR

lol no worries! If I could read minds then I wouldn't be in this business!

Have you had the chance to use/play around with the Atomos 19? If so, I'd love to hear what you thought about it compared to your Osee?
