Recording audio not at 23.98 - Audio meters not showing

Hi guys.

I am sure you can enlighten me on this problem. Till now I only recorded at 23.98fps and had no problems with audio. Audio meters are accurate. No problems there.

A while ago a client asked me if I can record at 24.98 fps. When I switched the frame rate though, the audio meters disappeared and a yellowed Varispeed showed up on the screen. I am not sure if audio is being recordered like that cos I am not seeing the meters. I dont think there is an actual problem. Just a setting perhaps. Has it got anything to do cos i use the grey ssd card? I dont think so but not sure.

Switch your project time base and meters will be back. Any time you see varispeed it means you are over/under cranking the frame rate and audio is disabled.

None standard TC rate. Are you sure they didn't mean 24fps? or 25fps?
Who records at 24.98.. AND WHAT FOR?

They meant pal 25.

If your Project framerate is different than you recording framerate, you will see yellow overlay that say "varispeed" which means you are either over cranking or under cranking and no audio will be recorded.
