Onces again, Red goes out of their way to make it easy for customers to upgrade their old tech to the new. Obsolescence obsolete, both in action and words for sure.

Any chance of a quick business lesson... how do you make money from this offer?!?!?
We are not going to be making a drive module for the DSMC program. When we came up with that module, we had no sight of the SSD cards and how advantageous they would be. SSD media outweighs the benefits in so many ways, forcing customers to use spinning Drives on EPIC at a reduced resolution and reduced quality settings just didn't make enough sense to continue the legacy.
Just because we like to make things right... we will be offering a trade in program for your RED DRIVES after NAB. We will give you 50% of the purchase price you paid for your RED DRIVE against the purchase of a 256GB SSD card. Hopefully this will help bring you guys forward into the SSD program.
It's called 'taking care of your customers'
Treat 'em right, they'll make plenty money down the road. People like being treated right.

Any idea when the Side SSD modules and SSD's will be shipping en masse?
