Good lord. . . there is no RED ATV. Surely that render was just for fun. That thing would take "shaky-cam" to a whole new level!

i've read and re-read the scarlet 2/3" specs maybe 10 times now. and my response is but a few words:

thank you, red team.

can someone PLEaSE repost the segment with the prices?? I'm in the airport on my iPhone and it can't resolve the text on such a gigantic picture

Am I the only one that is a bit shocked here by the responses?

No, you're not. Can't please everyone though, no matter how hard you try. If Jim were to start giving away cameras for free, people would still bitch.

As part of a company that owns a RED ONE, I think we are unbelievably lucky to be part of this action.

Yep.

Am a going a little bit crazy at godknows past 3am, but is the reference to internal storage for the brains (or other module) new? Regardless, it seems a cery nice thing to have, especially if you are shooting most of the time to the RAID, but quickly need to go solid state when things start vibrating.

Hate to upset everyone fixated on techno mumbo jumbo, but even the least sensor in the RED line up will turn out an amazingly beautiful picture that will play well on the big screens in your house, & make excellent 35mm film-out & digi-projection theatrical prints.

I have humble aspirations, all I ever wanted was 2k, because I know what I get out of it and put up on the screen. I guess I'll have to suffer with 3k or better. This is hard to believe what's coming down the road at us.

I'm a happy camper!!!!!

Quite happy with the news so far—cameras are in the spec and release dates I'm looking for. Excellent news.

Yep... $3750 for a complete kit for fixed lens Scarlet. It's game over for the rest of the "prosumer" fixed lens crowd. I don't see Panasonic offering anything RAW next year, let alone at 3K...
well.. Graeme already started his fight against his former camera provider.. :)

They still can't even put true 1920x1080 native resolution chips into any of their sub $10K cameras, unless I've missed something in the latest models.
true.. barry is still doing his terrific job :cold: he should be next stuart or jan crittenden successor as panny :ninja:.

Yep.

What is worse is that people seem to have forgotten we just did this a few weeks ago. anyone remember Nov 13th?

SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

I won't hold my breath until I have it in my hands, and even then, look at the RED ONE, the first one we rented was on a build that couldn't do the claimed 120 fps, now ours does in its 17th build easily.

ummm feedback......

The Epic X looks like Jim is selling us (with freebies) a camera nobody wants.

I have been lurking around here for a year without making a single post.

But I am glad to come out of the dark with my first post officially calling you a total bloody retard.

You're exactly right - which is why I'm so psyched about the Scarlet. Btw, you need 3K in order to end-up with roughly 2K after debayering.

$3,750 is a crazy number for being able to produce theater-worthy images. I'm just wondering about the DOF and DR - we'll have to wait to see the example footage from the fixed lens and the mini-primes.

Can't wait! (but have to)

Here you go Shawn..

Jim, that Red Monster Truck thingy looks wicked. Can you make a turret so you can rotate the camera? Or how about removable tires for different surfaces, or tank treads...
