  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Sorry, making assumptions like that means no cigar...... :red_bandana:

You are free to take your recorded 120 fps 3K RAW and generate your own 1080p signal in post production though.

Or as an alternative you can buy an HDCAM F35 at 50 fps 1080p or a Varicam at 60 fps 720p.... of course they do cost more than 20 x the price for less than 1/2 that max fps.

well, it seems its all about math and processing...

Burst is probably a factor of how hot the electronics get before the burst has to end. Once you start bursting, I can't imagine why you'd have to stop, short of the electronics are getting too hot. But that's just my guess.
I think bursting is really a factor of how fast you fill the memory buffer, but, like you, I could be wrong... :pinch:

Mysterium-X which has more DNR and higher frame rates than a RED ONE?
Jim

Jim, I think the main questions here are:

1. How much more DR does the Epic S35 Mysterium-X have over the Red One? Also, what is the number figure on that (i.e. 12 stops)?

2. Is there an upgrade path to go from the Epic S35 X to the Epic Monstro S35 (If such a sensor exists)? And if so, what would the upgrade costs associated be?

It's obvious that everyone wants max DR, I've begged for that from day one in respects to the Red One.

If the Epic Mysterium X limits us as far as DR goes, I'd much rather wait for the FF35 Epic Monstro and use my $17.5 trade in then. EVERYONE WANTS DR. :w00t:

2/3 scarlet is now fit to record 2.4:1 aspect ratio. that is fookin' awesome. $3,750 is a veeery nice price.
thanks red team.

help! My iphone can't resolve such a freakin big picture, can someone repost the prices page only?

Those worried about the EPIC X- Monstro upgrade...sell your EPIC X brain, and then buy a Monstro brain....why isn't this obvious? Or, sell it, then go for a Scarlet Monstro and make a profit if dynamic range is going to make you the next Spielberg...

I didn't whip out the booze tonight, maybe that's why a lot of the posts here so far have me scratching my head...

You serious? What exactly are you saying so I can respond very clearly?

Jim

Don't answer, don't answer...!!! We, including you (actually, specially you) want and need to continue to be happy all night long!!:usd: :innocent:

This is going to be inserted into the ****** of those complaining about todays announcements...:

As fast as possible burst shooting for stills.
Machine gun mode for stills...

Thanks guys.

So can we use it for motion shooting at your desired frame rate up to 72fps??
If we have a fast CF card, we might be able to shoot safely at 60fps or something?
