Then, can anyone explain me why the Canon offers a 35 mm sensor with 21 megapixel for under 3000?

Ok. Why not a competitor for the new Canon with a competitive price? 10000 is not competitive. Frame rates locked to 30fps. Full frame 30 mm sensor though.
That's why Red would have a role to offer.Competitive? I think you meant "crippled". The only thing the 5D2 has going for it's video mode is great DOF and low light performance. But, in the end, the video still looks like ass at 30fps and highly compressed. You guys have to get it out of your head that sensor size is everything. It's not. The end result is what matters.
I understand your point. The fact is they have a business oriented for still photography. You not. Maybe they would offer it.Why doesn't Canon make a full frame sensor model that does real 100fps motion for under $10K?
Real answer... because it is an honest 5fps camera.

You didn't catch my edit. I think they are not interested to go on your route. The fact is the full frame technology is available for under 3000. This is what matters. Now you have the idea...
Canon is oriented for still frames ONLY. RED is both.

Jim, is there any reason why you couldn't use 2 different brains for 3D work? Like say, one FF35 scarlet and one FF35 epic. Or do they both have to be the same model brain?
I understand your point. The point is we had all a hope you would offer your products not for the market price. Red One is there. Granted that, the new prices are a disappointment.Matters for what? Shooting stills only? If someone wants to shoot stills only, the Canon is a great choice. But why is that a point here? This is a stills AND motion discussion. Trying to make a price comparison between a stills ONLY camera and a stills AND motion camera doesn't seem to be making much sense. Once again... real frame rates cost real money. If you don't need them, buy a Canon.

Sorry... I'm taking some time off. (shakes his head...)
Jim
I'm sorry. I don't want you may misunderstand my words. Here everyone salute you on a route which I wouldn't consider as healthy. Their problem, not mine though. Never the less, outside, the tone I'm used to pay attention is not the same. The real world is not web.A disappointment? Are you kidding? What camera prices come close? What other cameras actually can do what we are offering? I really can't believe you posted this. How about we measure cost by the pound? That makes about as much sense as "price by sensor size". Unbelievable...
