  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Deanan is amazing! Was talking to him the other night about some Epic stuff and realized it was 1am in California!

When the Rocket first came out I felt like I must be the only one he ever talked to since he was so responsive.

Deanan deserves serious credit for all his hard work. You can tell this isn't a job to him, it's a quest!

I had a typical interaction with Deanan this last weekend.

I was testing the new beta 2.05 Canon build in prep for teaching at Reducation this week. I ran into an issue with REDcine-X that I couldn't puzzle through so I sent Deanan mail Saturday night at 11:05 pm, at 11:15 I had an answer.

While I have exchanged a fair amount of mail with Deanan, I finally got to meet him at the Scarlet launch and I can report first hand that he appears to be 100% human, and is a very nice guy.

The thing that struck me the most was that he was so calm and laid back.

Given the hours this guy works, I don't know how he does it.

There are a lot of great people at RED, but Charles my bomb squad rep, Kelly, Ted, Graham, Brian, Bre and Deanan are top shelf, even among their distinguished colleagues.

Thank for all your hard work Deanan, it's nice to have a chance to say so publicly.

"You know how when you make a copy of a copy, it's not as sharp as... well... the original." The original Deanan is one of the smartest and most genuine people I know. Proud to work with him. Prouder to call him a friend.

I was lucky enough to meet him at NAB...he even had time to talk to me for a few minutes....I'm sure he does not remember...but I do...

his just so damn quick at getting a fix for the problem...its crazy, very helpful and understanding guy...

RED has such a brilliant team its crazy, never dealt with a tech company like RED that has such a personal feel and reach to their customers...makes me happy I'm a RED customer when you got people like Deanan, Graeme, Jarred and so forth willing to answer questions and make what seems complicated such an easy thing to understand...
