  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Nice job! Well done.

A useful tutorial for sure, but wouldn't keying out the over-exposed highlights and replacing them with the HDRx-track be a more practical way to do this?

Yes Jaako. In the video I mention you can do that or use the window depending on the degree of accuracy you need.

Sometimes with a key inside Resolve it can be tough to nail it quickly. If it is just a dirty grade a window will work all the same if you've got the blending skills.

Thank you very much, Patrick!

Thanks for this, very useful. So can you show workflow to get a cut sequence in to Resolve with HDR.

In Resolve you don't need to create the second node. If you create a second source and add the layer node to that, it creates automatically the second node.

Patrick, thanks for your generosity in creating these workflow videos. I'm
finding them very helpful!
Cheers,

Getting a cut sequence into Resolve is the same as getting a non HDR sequence into Resolve.

For our current RED Workflow video check out the video:

Cool, thanks. So for each shot in the timeline we have to add each second layer manualy. ?

Patrick, others have said it, but I'll say it again... Thanks for your tutorials... your client work looks great... and I'm jealous over the cool jobs you're getting. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. If you have any other tutorials you want to see just let me know and I will throw them up if I get a second.

Im uploading a tracker tutorial at the moment.

Should be up shortly.
