Hi Reduser,

I just installed the latest Redcine X this morning and dived in to try D.E.B.

I have some concert footage from a director that I thought would be perfect to try out with DEB, but as soon as I load the footage into Redcine, the DEB checkbox is greyed out. The footage was shot on Dragon, although without the newest OLPF. I have a Redrocket X as well as a CUDA card installed.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

AFAIK there is not yet DEB support on the RR-X. Would love to hear from RED about the road map for RR-X acceleration of several things, including DEB, video output enabling, etc. Not sure about ADD…

IAC Jonnie, you can turn off the RR-X and process with DEB in a software decode. Yes, if it's more than a couple minutes of 6K footy, it might be a good time to go out for lunch… ;-)

Cheers - #19

EDIT: Phil caught the OLPF V1 issue which makes complete sense. But as long as we're on the subject - is DEB supported on RR-X hardware?

Or you can render on a low cost GPU card at close to real time :)

Thanks all! Really appreciate the quick response.

Got DEB working just on my GPU, so I could at least have an idea of it. I'll wait till I get some footage with the new OLPF to really dive into it.

DEB only works when the quality is set to FULL and you are using software debayer.

Battistella

Speaking of DEB, I'm a little disappointed that Adobe has only enabled it for Photoshop and not Premiere and AE.

Different beasts and I believe Red makes the Adobe Importer. DEB was "finalized" in this version and I suspect it's recently gone out in the SDK.

Ah! Good to know Phil... and in case I haven't said it lately, Thanks to you and David Battistella, Gunleik, and all the mods for doing what must seem a thankless job. '-)

We don't -- just our own Photoshop plugin.

Yep. Sorry I used confusing similar terminology. I thought you guys made the plugin, not the redImporter. It's all a bag of knots in my head sometimes :)

Your one step in front of me.. I can't even find it in Red Cine x. I downloaded what I thought was the latest beta version and I can't see anything about DEB. Is there any instructions or anything on how to use it?

Thanks

I can help.

D.E.B. Only works on Dragon material. It works with all OLPFs if I'm not mistaken.

It should automatically update when you open Redcine X Pro.
