Hey Everybody! Cine Gears Inc. has designed the below pictured custom cheese plate for the Raven. This is an early-stage design and we would love to hear what you think! Attach all your accessories, or mount your camera vertically where you can't with the stock Raven body.

Yes, that's right. We figured that since the functionality from the sidekick is mainyl built in to Raven's touchscreen that it might be more handy to have a secure place to attach microphones, video transmitters, etc.

I like this as a solution for attaching Mics/Onboard recorders. My only question is does the top bracket cover the pogo pins? and if so will it have electric passthrough so you can still run an outrigger handle?

Here is a 3D printed prototype for a solid visual. After getting a physical example we are thinking to alternate hole size more than it currently is, what do you think?

That's a really good point, and definitely something I will pose to our design team right away. Perhaps something in the vein of extending the plate further down as to include mounting points for said handle.

You got a pretty small target group with that thing as it does not fly well with the side kick, top plates or side handles. And there are quite a few third party cheese plates that does not cost much that are seated in the same place as the side kick. So difficult to see in what way this one shines in a better way than whats already out there. See wooden camera etc.

That's a good point, but this plate is more of a jumping off point for us. We are looking for ways to increase the flexibility of functionality for the Raven and other cameras by playing around with possibilities. Introducing a mounting plate to which such possibilities may be mounted is Step 1!
Again, good points made. We are definitely taking any feedback on board as we think about ways to increase camera-use possibilities.

Dual handle helps.....

Side handles are very cool - would be good if there's a record button on there too

I like the side handles, would appreciate some 1/4 20 mounting holes on the top of them for attaching accessories. Record button would also be amazing. They look comfortable. Would be cool if you sold singles as well.

Cheers.

Both definitely doable.
