  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"craigslist Warning" I Was Shot, Tied-up, Beaten-up & Robbed!!!

Speedy recovery, get well soon. A good reminder that craigslist isn't always a safe thing. last week I was buying an item from someone on craigslist, I was nervous about it, so I went with a friend. What surprised me is that When I got there the guy was there with his kids and welcomed me and my friend in. He was a great guy, but I just couldn't stop thinking how he was risking the safety of his kids.

As far as the gun control debate is concerned, cant we keep the controversial topics in reduser between cameras, mac vs pc, adobe vs apple, canon vs Nikon ect....

i mean whats the point, next thing we know we will all be debating abortion and end up upset at each other.

I'd just like to say say if you do choose to own a gun where it is legal PLEASE keep it locked up so kids, or anybody that breaks into your home can't get it. I personally own a Shotgun, but I leave it at my fathers house, because he has a good quality gun safe and I do not. Also don't get one unless you have taken some gun safety classes or some thing (marksmanship merit badge baby).

But above all just be careful and avoid bad situations and you will probably never have a need for one.

Sounds great, I like that very much shoot and get shot at in 4k, much better then 22 caliber or any caliber.

Hey shutter thanks for your support, you are correct that people some times are not much careful at all (like my self/daa!) and this is one of the reason for my post, hopefully alerting others.
Also you absolutelly correct that guns should be kept away from children and any body but yourself and to be used as life or dead situation, also this bealive of myn was the reason of more beating as the criminal wanted to know were my guns whore but I did toked like a man(a little one, but a man)and he left with no guns of my to use on the street wich was the last I wanted, my guns responsible for more crime or lives.

Ketch....haven't had my chance so here I am saying rest up and I am glad you are fine.....now finish your website! It sucks you had such nice glass taken...hopefully you will get it all back or at least be able to replace it...

I'm starting to think I got the wrong people to design my site, not very professionals at all, the guys at digital media, but I will find some better and finish up, I must.

as far as the loss of property I will meet tomorrow with my insurance adjustor so I hope to make a good deal with him to replace my staff.

At least in Colorado, shoot to kill. Wrongful death liability tops out at $250K, whereas liability for lifelong medical care could easily go into the millions. :gun:

I agree, though, it would be a much better world if people only shot each other with cameras!

It is the same in California or Back home in Italy for that matter, but some times is not only what you must do but what you can do in a surprise situation where you have nothing to defend your self with, other than get the weapon from the attacker(or try).

At the end of the day, in pain and upset but just glad it let me come out a live.

Well before I was 18 and moved out of east cleveland, ohio. I was shot at at least 4 times(they missed :)) my little brother was shot in the arm at 9, I have been almost robbed at least 5 times by guys with guns or knives. Once had a bullet hole in my shirt but no bullet in me. Weird! Clothes were to big I guess. :) I remember running up the street when my friends mothers boyfriend shot him and his brother 2 or 3 times. That sucked. Other than that it was a pretty good neighborhood except for the poverty.

I am glad to hear that you are okay. I am proud of you for trying to fight. Keep hope alive!
 
Hey Nik, sure sounds you had your good share of S...t happening to you and arround you, but is also good that you are okay.

My self doing much better, thanks for your care.

And yes I'm also proud of my self for not stand down even in front of a armed criminal, but also it was stupid, because I was wrong in thinking He wanted to kill me, He did not, or He could still have don it after.

But at the ebd we wore both laky.

I've only just caught this thread so I'm sorry if I'm late in saying I wish you well and all the best.

I've unfortunatley been threatened at gunpoint and shot at a number of times both in the line of work as a camera-op but also as an individual. They missed me but they are still quite shocking events that stick in the mind.

After reading this thread I'd like to say a great deal regarding what was brought up but instead I'll keep it short

Don't let the bastards grind us down. There is bad in the world, but also good - let's all try to help those who face the shit not be turned bad by it, instead let's focus on and encourage the good (and openly and honestly face the causes of the world's problems). Let's create some hope instead of a mood of dystopia.
As someone has already said let's help make a world where the only people who get shot get shot with a RED!

If you throw the party and I'm in the neck of the woods drop me a line and I'll bring the drinks - some of them anyway as I know how much camera-ops can throw back!!!

you are never to late to show your support to some one, so tank you.

I agree with you, and I try to never let the good things be obscured by negative experiences, and I channel my energy for positive attitude no matter what, some time turns out to be more difficult then others but the support I recieved in this forum helped me more then any of you will ever know.

I was completely blocked in my mind but now at last I'm back and working on a completely new script to include this recent events and use it as again positive flow, making, it, work in my favor as well as use it to convei a series of messages to try and make a better place for every one, I to like allways to think of ways to do my part, for now I know no better way then use Storytelling as a media to do just that.

Glad you are OK and thanks for posting the warning and info. I will have to make sure I am more carefull next time I use craigslist. But generaly I meet people at a parking lot of a big busy store half way between where we both live.

Thanks for your support, I think it was almost a must to post this thread so to inform others of the possible danger when using Craigslist.

Robbers don't do it just once and usually its not there first time.

Similar things seem to happen to people selling
Shitzu puppies.
