  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Cool Lights LED... AMAZING

Hey Richard,

You know how much i love my 4 LED600 and we have talked about the need for more powerful units. The LED1200 might lure me eventually into buying a couple but what i has hoping for would sound something like LED2400... :D

Am i out of luck? :D

No not out of luck but you'll put someone's eyes out with that if you're not careful ;-).

Very possible given the nature of how we're doing the LED 1200 in a more modular fashion with 6 LED strips of 200 LEDs each. Therefore adding more is just adding more LED strips vertically. Of course a 2400 would draw around 200w and would eat batteries for lunch as well so you'll need a really good battery for that if you want it out in the wild.

Hey Richard,

Do you have a showroom in Reno?

Hi Jeremy,

This is a pretty low overhead operation to help keep end customer prices low. We just ship out of Reno but no real office presence there at the current time. If I happen to be in town sometimes though, like I am about twice a year, and someone can come to Reno, then I have shown people products. But its all in the timing on that.

On the topic of LEDs, I remember a litepanel alternative that was about 6"x4" that was very affordable. Does anyone know the name of the brand?

I just need a small led panel for an eye light.

Thanks for producing a great low-cost alternative Richard....ordered a 600 today, I look forward to using it. =)

Your welcome and thanks for your order! On your other question I'm not sure which one that is but we have the LED 240 coming out sometime this summer. Super small and super bright.

Nah. With 90+ CRI 5500k 85watt screw in CFL's out there for $25 (like a 325watt soft box) LED's just don't have the bang for the buck quite YET. But I haven't tested the unit in this thread so I could be wrong. I might love it.

I'm more interested in RGB LED Pars for throwing colors around. Not sure where to find them with RGB controls right on the unit though. I have this fantasy of being able to light background and accent lights from a portable wireless DMX control panel on any location. I've seen some products that are heading that direction.

Like This? Are there others?

Jay,

Can you post any footage form the shoot? Im interested in seeing the quality of the light they out put. All of the LED lights at NAB really impressed me. (But then when I calculated the price of some of those setups- it was well over $10,000 in lights...)

hey jay...any chance of doing a side by side on info tech of these lights and what they are meant to "replace"...like how they compart to say the arri 300 and 650's?
