  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Clayton Haskell

Hey Clayton, your 2010 demo reel looks great. Can't wait to see it updated with your new Epic footage!

Thanks Brad, Yeah that Ree l is dated... was cut at the end of 09, soon as I wrap my current project I will be uploading a new 100% RED/EPIC reel that I am excited to share.

Quick and dirty test with the Angie prototype 45mm - 120mm T2.8 zoom with Ash Fisher, stills + motion coming next. Did I mention I LOVE this combo?

Wow. Those are some of the best looking EPIC images I've seen so far. The color is breathtaking. CANNOT wait for motion. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Justin, Ash Fisher is a natural and I was tired of shooting my cat...she just moved in so more to come with her. I agree the colors are pleasing and I am more interested how to take advantage of redlogfilm...at 1st the image appears flat but you drop a curve, tweak saturation and volla! Not a whole lot to it. Stand by on that video ;)

The Images are incredible; shooting against bright background is just simply a very difficult thing to do. Amazing! The Angenieux Optimo 45mm X 120mm Zoom Lens T2.8: 2.7x is a beautiful lens.

Yeah the zoom held up, i was pretty lean and mean, next time a little fill would help but all things considered she performed like a beast. More like a variable prime then a zoom.

You think you would have needed more fill if HDRx was on?

Can't wait to see the motion either... I love me some golden brown and those stills definitely have it.

No HDRx, just 5k at 120... did not have an eye light so I managed to pull her face up in redcine...you would be surprised how thick these "negatives" are, i pushed them pretty hard without an ounce of noise. See FLUT controls in redcine and you will know what I am talking about.

Anyone guess what camera I am using? This is something that was very difficult to do in the past...the scenario being Summer Rayne pops over to my apt as we are in a pinch to grab a few shots for an upcoming exhibition here in the city, no time to schedule a crew...just grab the glass (Timur Civans Cooke Panchros), some bricks (R1, still waiting for redvolts), epic-m 727 and lets hit the streets, errr...the park. Shooting upstream and over water falls operating with one hand on the side handle and the other on the glass...now we are talking! less demanding perhaps, less challenging? Thats up to you, I find find myself pushing further then before and having a lot of fun doing it. Some wild stills to come tonight.

it is stuff like this that makes all those sleepless nights worth it. Glad you are having fun man.

I got a bottle with your name on it Jarred...thanks for all your hard work chief. That goes to Jim and team RED as well! I am out here cranking out images from the EPIC on a daily basis and it still blows me away that RED has achieved this. Lots of motion capture to come, hardly have time to post but I will try and do as much as I can. Cheers!
