  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Prepping to dive back into shooting more of a continuing feature film this week. So got to share a hint of footage I'm reviewing...

STH OLPF, iso2000 w/DEB, 35mm f2.8

I just love playing in the dark!

I have to be honest with you, These images looks so much better in regards to noise compared to so many other posts I've seen. I would have guessed you were using the V1 for sure. Your 2000 iso shots look very usable in my opinion. And I had written off 2000iso with the v2 olpf. Either you got really luck with a good sensor or your doing something very right. Keep it up man...I hope my dragon performs like this!

I agree. I just can't get clean images like this, certainly not at 2000 ISO. Would it be possible to send an R3D of those 2000 ISO images so I can look at the scopes?

due to the nature of the project, i can't share any r3d's, but that shot is very much lit. KinoFlo just out of frame, so it maybe gives the illusion it's darker than it was in person.

however, we've continued shooting and got some lovely images going... these are iso800, STH OLPF, 6K WS.

happy shooting!

Don't forget to mention whether you're using ADD for these stills or not. If you are, noise is visibly reduced using that method so people may have the wrong expectations for their R3D's...

oh for sure. def have DEB on the higher iso's, but i've yet to use ADD much. i'm sure the down-sampling helps too.

Cool, just wanted to make sure.

Other night was able to finally look at some footage for a project I was DP on back in October. Can't wait to see the full thing when it's finished. These are straight outta camera with DC/RG4.

STH OLPF, iso400, 24mm f2.8.

While we were all frothing at the mouth over any more details on upcoming Weapon upgrades, I was shooting one of my very favorite subjects: my super cute nephew.

STH OLPF, iso's ranging from 500 to 1280.
