  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can't Stop Shooting!

Nice stuff Sean! I like all the natural lighting and the real situations captured. That's a fun camera workout with good exposure control. What lenses did you use?

Thanks Roger! I shoot with Nikon prime lenses. All of the 100fps flag football footage was on a 85mm at f2 and Black ProMist 1/4 filter, while the sunset shots were a 35mm. The beach footage was a 35mm f2 at 84 fps. The night shots were 50mm f1.7 with Promist again. All this was natural lighting with just me, camera, and subjects. And as said above, I just can't stop! I love this camera.

thought i would share a few crazy screengrabs from test shots for upcoming feature project... mostly iso250 on 50/85mm f2.0.

Still doing lots of shoots all over. This is with STH OLPF, with natural lowlight and DEB across focal lengths 24 f2.8, 35 f2, and 85 f2... jpeg adding artifacts of course, etc etc etc. :)

I have to be honest with you, These images looks so much better in regards to noise compared to so many other posts I've seen. I would have guessed you were using the V1 for sure. Your 2000 iso shots look very usable in my opinion. And I had written off 2000iso with the v2 olpf. Either you got really luck with a good sensor or your doing something very right. Keep it up man...I hope my dragon performs like this!

thanks Joseph! I do think it's strange how ppl have written off iso2000 on the STH OLPF, i love it! in fact, i just posted a new video of test footage for an upcoming shoot. shot on iso2000 on a somewhat slower f2.8 lens in ambient/practical lighting! take a look! no DEB or ADD either! i love my dragon.

Having no one to do final camera/lighting tests on except yourself can be tricky, but when you get the look you're finally going for... totally worth it.

I've been shooting so many projects over the past few weeks it's been hard to post stuff on here but this is too silly not to!

Straight out of camera: DC/RG4, iso800, STH OLPF.

This is an inspiring thread. So often I want to shoot and shoot, just gathering images in the way that you are, using the camera as a tool to explore the environment. Then I censor myself as it's dumb or something. But literally because of this thread I'm going to stop psyching myself out and shoot more.
