  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Canon mount for epic needed

vote +3, autofocus can wait

What do you think about lens like 50mm EF F/1,4...would work right the EF series from canon ? or it´s a cheap series and it´s better forget it and buy a nice Zeiss

Best regards ;)

Go with Canon's L-series lenses.

depends :)

I have a feeling if I took a vote... you guys would prefer the option to get the mount before autofocus was complete.

Suggesting we vote about stuff could get really out of hand.

Will the Nikon / Canon have a lock down a la PL or Optek? Much preferred. R1 Nikon mount was way too loose, and those silly rubber bushings would come out from time to time and roll around in the sensor housing.

Yep, add me in the "ship Canon mount first, enable focus software later" camp Jarred! After all, as long as we can control the electronic iris portion we can easily pull focus by hand if needed. But having the glass up front to make the pretty images is first priority for those (like me) without PL mount cine glass....

Oh and for James above - yes, the Canon mount has a positive lock collar along with the standard EF lock. It's very solid!

Cheers from Tokyo!

Paul :)

thought so :) yes iris control would be functional right out of the gate.

And it has a double lock system as Paul mentioned... its pretty sick.

Heh heh heh...

Sorry Jarred, felt that was missing here.

To be honest, even though I have some Canon glass myself, I think I am looking forward to the Nikon mount a little more, for use with G-Primes and 14-24. However that will also beg for the Redmote Pro, so the Canon has my full attention atm.

Ship the mounts - Nikon & Canon - as soon as the machinist finishes with them. Software can wait!

Way to go on the double lock !! (same for Nikon, I hope) Will iris control be mechanical or electronic?

Yes, ship it (with my Epic-M please so we can use Canon wides underwater) and update autofocus later. Question does manual focus work reasonably well? - that's all we really need.

Ship the mounts for sure (canon and Nikon)...auto focus can wait.

Yes, locking Nikon mount with electronic aperture (iris) control please (for G series lens use). AF enabled later, if necessary, would be fine.

I just say REDMOTE PRO. That's the killer right there. Bring it and everybody and I really mean everybody will buy one.
Bring it quick and we all will be in heaven.

Thanks
Tim

Yes, ship EPIC Canon mount with EPIC M so that we can get the camera shooting UW in July. At least one, even if AF doesn't work, that's fine.
