  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Canon 300c Specs as they come

I'm not accepting the DV Info posting as authoritative yet ... even though every thing that has been confirmed at the event has panned out ... lenses focal lengths, speed ... every detail so far matches up.

Also, I know Chris Hurd who runs dvinfo.net, and he wouldn't let a detailed post like that go out unless he was confident of the source.

The lenses remain far and away the most interesting part of Canons announcement.

I'm very tempted to spend cash on the lenses and keep shooting my 7D a bit longer, while I save for an Epic X.

Well, it's great you don't need lights, but painting with light IS cinematography.

EG:
8:06PM Now we're talking about the sensor inside the C300. It's a full 4k sensor, with 1920 x 1080 pixels for the red and blue colors, and 1920 x 2160 pixels for green.

I don't think there's a better way to put it. Low light performance is great and can add to the potential for high contrast lighting and bail you out in situations where it's not practical to set up a bunch of lights, but advertising that "you don't need lights" seems like a really silly way to market a camera to serious filmmakers.

I just don't see anything historic yet, in my opinion. The responses from the panel are just so basic and non-technical, it's frankly boring. And I love Canon products, and I owned an AF100 and now own an FS100. Low light was so 6 months ago. :) I'm just really underwhelmed at the moment. But, we'll see. And with Scarlet info around the corner, Red might be able to make people's day!

And pertaining to the body, it just looks like a thicker 7D to me. I'd say they copied themselves. The handle also looks like the AF100. If anything, they just took from ALL the cameras and came up with another design. I personally like the body style and size. As tall as my FS100 but a lot more shallow.

Talking about the sensor - it looks like it will pull it's weight, but in an hour we'll see....

I'm let down by Canon tonight, not to say that I didn't expect to be a little bit anyways... but still... Bring it home JIM! 1HR!!

Following the Canon event.
Looks like a bad infomercial to me...

Or something like that.
