  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

camera to camera sync?

Hi Bjorn

From the sound of it I dont think you want to use MoCo sync mode. That is taking a single frame when a pulse is presented. Is that what you want? Or are you just wanting to record while your signal is high? That is, make a new R3D for every activation of the trigger.
You dont mention what signals exactly you are giving the Epic from Milo, but i can tell you what you need to give.
You want your trigger signal to go from the Milo to the white connector of the 3BNC to Lemo plugged into the SYNC port. The CTRL port only has RS232 as inputs. I dont think you want to use that at all.
You need to configure the GPIO/Sync port as GPIO.
Set Sensor sync to either none or genlock. If you are using Genlock, that signal goes to the green BNC.
It sounds like you already have external triggering set up correclty.

hope that helps

Aha,
That makes it more understandable. I probably have the sync and ctrl cables right as they worked fine on my older version of flare and epic build (before I messed up all the settings) So moco sync mode is more like a time lapse thing, to use it I would need to set flair to fire a pulse for each frame, correct?

For normal milo shoots I just let the milo trigger record and then give the camera a few frames time to startup record and then the milo slaves it's move to the epic timecode / hz / sync signal coming in one of the two tiny cables coming out of the back of the camera. ( I have it all locked down, dont have the 3 bnc cables but cut those cables and soldered them onto the MRMOCO epic trigging circuitbord and I'm pretty sure thats done correctly as it worked fine before. So I think I have to look into the flare pulse continuos high setting to make sure that it's actually giving the epic what it needs to trigger the record.

About the moco setting, if I would make the milo fire a pulse for 1/50 of a second 25 times a second is it then possible to use the moco mode to have the camera record 25fps, or how fast can the "moco mode" go. Would love to use it all the time and always be able to do varispeed moves. without having to reset and change setting in camera. i.e always be in timelapse triggering and just set the frame rate on flair...
