Thanks for me making me laugh Jim. I can tell its killing you this self-imposed vow of silence, until this momentous day.

This is the day that particularly us devoted Scarletusers have been loyally waiting for. I'm lucky enough to be able to shoot on RED's relatively often, however there are a lot who have been dreaming of having the chance to be able to use this amazing technology, and on their own low-to-no budget projects. It is truly a gift that RED are giving the independents out there. We know that there is a lot more out there for indies than there was in four years ago even, however nothing compares to 3K resolution, RedCode, DSMC modular form factor, groundbreaking dynamic range (with the assistance of HDRx), READ/RESET timings, 120+fps, solid build quality...and whatever else you have up your sleeves.

I remember Jim giving warning that if you were going to buy a R-1 you had better do it before a certain date. Then it was announced that November 29th 2009 was the cutoff date for ownership of a camera eligible to enter Stage 2 and Stage 3. Didn't affect me because I already had bought all the cameras I could, but I took notice and now when he says pay attention, I pay attention.

RED is just getting started. The library is being built. The difference is that we are on the side of the customer. As time goes on...

I wouldnt want to be Canon right now tbh. Jim used the same date that Canon announces it's "game changer" just so he could give em a good scare and have a good laugh. I'm almost 100% sure he knows what Canon is up to and he knows how to trump it easily. I think I read somewhere before "when everyone is thinking 10 RED is thinking 500"....

Im not too worried about specs... I know my Red 1 will still be relevant when I'm shooting some stills on my 1d MK10. Red's got our back with the updates.
