  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Build 20 (Beta) bug tracker

Thanks for the reply Stuart. The Restore of setting didn't make a difference but I am going to retest it today with a different Camera Body and will get back to you after that.

edit: Different camera and everything worked as it should so I think I might have just had either a bad cable or bad install. Either way it has nothing to do with build 20 as you already suggested. Thanks for the reply though, it's helps to have the feedback.

Camera Refuses To Boot Under 20.1.3

Camera Refuses To Boot Under 20.1.3

Hi,

this is what is happening with #945:

We had beta 20 installed a fortnight ago or so. On production suddenly the camera refused to boot. The fan was unmistakable shoveling air and the rear LCD was glowing but no infamous "booting...".

2 days later I was able to boot the camera again (why?...) and took the chance to go back to build 17. Renstalling build 17 worked out well, so did black shading. Several powecycles later with no error I'm confident that build 17 is a stable working build fo #945.

I was curious how release build 20.1.3 works with my camera and installed it. I was able to powercycle the camera but after black shading the old error occured again. Only with a CF card inserted that contains an uograde folder convinced the camera to boot. Pressing "later" in the upgrade dialog ends the unpgrade task and leads to the normal operation mode.

Any idea what's happening here?

Regards,

Hans

Reboot and camera firmware

Reboot and camera firmware

Just sent you an e-mail Hans.

Not 100% sure why its doing that, but the LOG file will help track it down.

Hi while on shoot today plugged in the CF cards but the message came up "Media too slow" and couldn't format either. all 3 CF cards had the same error, switched to the drive and it was fine. Lucky i had the drive.
i'm on B20, shooting 4k 16:9
Any remedy?
thanks in advance

Did you try formatting the cards? (I had that happen once, but I formatted the card and it was fine.) You are using the Red CF cards correct?

I mainly use CFs, very rarely the drives. I never managed to shoot 4K 16:9 on CF, even on RC28. Maybe that from build 13 onward this improved but not to my knowledge. For 16:9 aspect ratio I shoot in 4KHD mode.

if shooting redcode 36: 16:9 -- you can only use hdd or redram

To CF card, your max rate in 16:9 & 3k is as follows: (3k)
8gb or 16gb card: redcode 36 @ 30fps

redcode 28 - 4k : 16:9 (4k)
8gb card: 25fps
16gb : 30fps

*as i recall, if you have in your system set to 4k RC 36 16:9 on a cf card, you'll get the media to slow warning

Dont know if this has been mentioned, We just moved to B20, and lost the ability to see lens data, which worked fine before on B17.

Any ideas?

Lens Data

Lens Data

We just moved to B20, and lost the ability to see lens data, which worked fine before on B17.

In the general case, make sure that LENS DATA is enabled in the DISPLAY options sub-menu.

In the specific case of a Birger mount, make sure you have their appropriate firmware installed.

If neither of those work send me a P.M....

Lens Data

I just got Cooke S4/i RED Set and the lens data doesnt show either. I'm using B20.1.3

S4/i lens data support

S4/i lens data support

I just got Cooke S4/i RED Set and the lens data doesnt show either. I'm using B20.1.3

You'll need to load the Beta camera firmware Build 21 V21.0.2 for Cooke S4/i lens data support.

This evening I wrapped my second feature shot with build 20 and really miss
the lens data function. Doesn't matter if it is selected in the menu or not, it
hasn't been operational since build 17. Please bring it back as it became an
invaluable asset.

We are having a few strange problems with build 20, the images have a very strong blue hue when recording in RAW or 709 even after white balance, and when monitoring in rec709 the rear screen is saying RAW. We did not have these issues with B17 are we missing something?

Cheers
