  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I called for the umpteenth time. My reps voice mailbox has been full for weeks, so I finally called the operator. I was fully paid up on the 10th, and my order didn't get picked till the 16th (when I called last time) and most likely won't ship till the 26th. When I called on the 16th the rep I spoke too was surprised my order didn't get picked earlier, but since my bomb squad guy was at NAB it seems to have fallen by the wayside. So he picked it immediately. The guy I talked to today was also surprised by the hold up.

Even though I'm a grown up (at least partially) I'm still super bummed. I have 3 jobs this week and it would have been awesome not to rent on one, and not to shoot HVX on the others. I've been waiting a year, but this last little bit is killing me.

Congratulations! We pay for ours tomorrow... hope it arrives in 3 weeks or less after the payment.
 
I just got a week long traveling job for next week, which means if it doesn't ship tomorrow I'm fucked. I wouldn't get to see my new camera for a few weeks.

Gotta tell you, dont get your hopes up. My packing label went in on the 11th, and I still got nothing. I might be able to help you out with the camera though, is it the job coming to LA?
 
Job is MON: Kentucky WEN: Florida THU: Texas MON: SF. All on the HVX though. I'm just bummed my new little buddy will be all locked up in his cardboard cage while I'm away.

I'd be happy to help you out if you are in my area... (West Palm Beach South to Miami) the only catch is that if you are talking about Thursday May 1st. I have a shoot in the middle of the day for 2-3 hours. Hopefully I'll be using my RED by then... Afterwards I could send out the camera (if I have it) with my tech (both at no charge) if you need it. Although I doubt that you want to mix HVX & Red One footage.

Jared's post this morning of delays only boost my concerns.

Have you considered using a different shipping address of an area that you will be in at the time and having a "Hold at Fed Ex Office" and going and showing ID and picking it up while on the road?

I would think that there has to be a work around to getting the camera too you while you are on the road.
