Hi Ryan,

We feel your pain.. Trading up from a Scarlet to an Epic it is the same rationale as trading your car for a newer/ different one. You get the amount of your trade in applied towards the price of your new car; however, sales taxes and registration are still based on the gross selling price, in other words, the trade in does NOT count, even if you also paid sales on your used car. This is also true to duties and taxes.

Can we have some emphasis placed on education relating to customs charges? When I upgraded from Scarlet-X to Epic-X, I was charged taxes on the full Epic-X price rather than the difference and this was never followed up on (an extra $500 out of my pocket). I'm worried this may happen again when it's time to upgrade to Dragon. Other than that, bomb squad's been awesome!

For upgrades you will have to pay duties on the upgrade cost itself not the value of the camera.

Oh good. I once had to buy a REDMag used because the third party could ship same day. RED was estimating 3-5 days. This is a really good change.

I purchased my first RED not long ago and my rep (Morgan Beall) is awesome. She welcomed me into the RED ecosystem and I couldn't be happier with the service. The new guy always sits at the loser cafeteria table of film... not true with RED. Great to hear this service getting optimized even better.

Hi Alex,

Let me clarify that same day shipping means if you place your order within the allotted time it will process and ship that day if available. Same day delivery is a little different and something I personally looked into for our SoCal customers but this is very expensive. However customers do have the option of stopping by our Store in Hollywood or picking things up direct from our facility in Irvine.

An option for same day delivery in LA would be nice.

I've had packages delivered from McMaster Carr within six hours for less than $5 through PDL Concepts.

I imagine McMaster Carr ships a lot more volume than Red. But if they're only charging $5 it seems like there has got to be some leeway to make it happen.
