I have a client that wants my camera to record for 10 seconds per hour, for eight hours each day, or two weeks.

Is there a program or something I can hook to a camera to accomplish this?

your red or a stills camera?

i know there are certainly some for stills cameras... can't remember which softwares i've used for that, they've been pretty basic though. i'd start with a good search for timelapse software, and hopefully some guys that do a lot of that can recommend their favorites.

THis is NOT for a RED.. Most likely a 5D. Need software to trigger the camera to shoot REAL TIME for 10 seconds every hour for 8 hours out of each day.. For about 8 - 10 days

Dragonstopmotion works with canon 5d too ( a lot of cameras, take a look at there site).
It is great, and gives you a lot of control from the camera in the computer one of the best for long timelaps and stop motion of course.

use multiple cameras and power sources to avoid failure.
