lots :)

It depends when this year you ordered Paul.. but we expect to get through all of the existing backorders by sometime in early August.

BOMB EVFs being fulfilled by order date - be it part of EPIC-M package or as stand-alone order for a RED ONE.

I remember about 5 years ago people were wondering if the new EVF could be used to see 3D, not sure if anybody has tested that yet...we got ours a couple of weeks ago and we have been using them to see perfect stereo right out of the cameras..... awesome.

We are in the early stages of working on a wireless version that you can walk around with......

Rick that video was totally assume. Im sitting here on an island in the middle of the pacific ocean waiting for the production office in LA to send me mine and I feel Im having those same sort of day dreams as in the video.
Well done, and thank you for putting a smile on my face as I wait for maybe a week or more it sounds like now.
Thanks
I only wish I would have bought 2 now so I could have a pair of those cool 3D BEVF glasses, so I can look at life in 3D all the time from my camera, Im sure they will be all the rage.

Hey Rick what lens are you using in all these sort of tilt shift looking but not shots? Lens baby PL???

Hi Aaron,

Here is my original post on the idea back in January of 2008:

Cool to see you trying it!

My good friend Florian from Vienna who also has RED1 and me both together concluded after our test last night that RED PRO EVF a.k.a. RED BOMB EVF is JUST WONDERFUL pace of gear!!!

Thanks San, that is great to know!

Did you AB with the old EVF?

Cheers!

G

Gunleik,

old RED EVF is good too but a bit heavy.

The new one is much lighter and makes it easier to balance R1 for a handheld or studio work.

Also optically is better just because is a brand new peace of EVF technology...

Glad your happy Sanjin.. for some reason Im not surprised your unboxing would involve 15 different cameras and as many different lenses :)

LOL
Enthusiasm at its purest!

@ Sanjin:
Glad to hear that you find it optically better than the old EVF.

Soooo much looking foreward to use this piece in the winter and intense sun we see here in the high north!

Will have to get used to that redmote for navigation, though...

(Note to self: Next up is....)

Cheers!

LOL, be careful, you may need a white cane and a guide dog...

What is the angle of view in these, like watching a computer monitor or IMAX screen? I wonder if they are adequate to evaluate stereoscopic effect.

On the issue of comparing old and new EVF the new one DOES take a bit of getting used to. The old EVF which I have sold was pretty darn good. The new one has a smaller image and you need to be exactly the right distance from the image otherwise it can seem a bit soft around the edges. It is very much lighter and easier to manage .

Thanks Jarred,

and it's true because sometimes I have a sort of hangover playing with all that wonderful gear...

i received my bomb 24th of june - thank you so much.
i have been shooting the whole week about 2.5 TB of 4.5K stuff (documentary, handheld, runandgun) and love everything about it - such a great tool to work!
