I've known Jim Jannard for 25+ years, and most of Red Team, including Jarred, for 6+ years. They're all good friends of mine. Its remarkable how these guys (and girls) on Red Team have held up under these nearly five years of extremely long work days (and nights), and the pressure to innovate, create, fabricate, and deliver in a very demanding environment - and for a very demanding clientele. It fully blows my mind how well they've survived and performed under those circumstances...

IMO Jarred is the perfect fit for the position he holds on Red Team. He has the tech knowledge, web skills, and personality to be what Jim calls him - the "Fire Chief". He is a fire fighter of sorts, deftly dousing the multiple daily fires that come up each work day, while coordinating with us Red User members on what info can be released. By personality he's a way cool guy - laid back, casual, and personable. He like to tease and joke - but that comes in way handy in breaking the stress of the workload he and Red Team are under.

The personality of Red naturally filters down from Jim - they pay close attention to business details, and really know their stuff - but they're company personality is far from the cold, sterile, detached corporate mentality of most of the longtime manufacturers in this industry. They're real people, doing real cool things - and communicating closely with us customers. What a breath of fresh air that is!

Each of the Red Team members fills their roll to a T - Jim as the visionary ring leader and team builder, Ted as the roving ambassador, Jarred as the every day Fire Chief, Stuart, as the equipment tech guru, Graeme and Rob Lohman as the ace coder guys, Big Jon as the longtime industry veteran, Brent and Kelly wrangling the daily accounts, and on and on throughout Red Team. Jim may haver a lot a capital to work with - but he generated it through his vision and team building skills.

These Red Team members are the kind of people who would give you the shirt off their backs - and they figuratively have to those of use who are customers. lets' all cut Red Team some slack, realizing that their aggregate company personality is refreshingly different than the norm, that they've been busting their rears to delivery great products, and they have been and always will deliver them as soon as they possibly can. If they joke a bit with us along the way, we should take it as it is - coming from friends who have our best interest in mind.

Even so I have only known Jim and every one at RED for just about 4 years, I also fill fortunate in off to be a
friend of them and extremely Proud of been part of this Community and been a Red User not only here but out
there with the Gear that it is literally changing how we do and see things in the Motion acquisition.

I could not have described the RED Team any better, there dedication to Jim, the Program, and US, is like nothing I have ever seen,
and way too many times there is just complains about something that has nothing to do with RED and or the
Team, and it is understandable that at times, they need to put people in their place so that the forum does
not get over crowded with irrelevant comments about this is not here yet?

Only few here know that I'm in the process of establishing a Solar Panel company, and I know how many
corporations and industries of all kinds have closed their doors World Wide, and RED gets effected by this just
like any one else does, so as this companies close their doors, other suffer the consequences of not getting
their products and parts as expected.

.. well said Steve ;)

Many thanks Tim, Ketch, Terry, and Clint for the kind words...

Tim, don't know how I left my friend Deenan of the Red Team list I mentioned...duh! I knew I'd somehow leave someone out. Deenan has done an fantastic job with Redcine, Redcine X, Red Rocket, and lots of other stuff since joining Red Team.

+1 what Steve said, well put.

This is excellent Gibby. Thanks for a wonderful insight. I can appreciate this. Patience, is actually a virtue I have acquired by waiting for the Scarlet.

I'd like to join the big THANK ALL OF YOU AT RED at this occasion.
You have made it possible that I can teach film aesthetics as a hands on experience again to young people at our arts university, which had to abandon 35mm years ago for lack of funding and was forced to resort to crappy video camcorders until the R1 came along. Now we could even wipe the dust from our old 35mm lenses!

I can't stress how vital this is - I was appalled at the expense I had to lay out to shoot some (really, really badly exposed - my fault) B&W reversal 16mm in film school. To get instant feedback is critical for education.

Thanks for the kind words Gibby... and Zak, i was having such a great Christmas eve until you reminded me about the evf :)

the Bomb seems like such a fitting name more and more everyday :)

anyways.. they are indeed still shipping.. but slowly through the holiday. There is a new excuse everyday..bad weather, workers on holidays, etc. etc. but the good news is we now have great cosmetic parts... the last samples were perfect. just gotta finish assembling the damn things.

You Zak as well and also everyone else....even you Chuck.. even though you pissed me off .. have a Merry Christmas. :)

Go to sleep, Jarred. Santa's comin'!

Santa can skip my house and sleep in..

I have an EPIC sitting next to me on one side and my beautiful wife on the other. Its gonna be hard for Santa to top that tomorrow morning so he might as well not even try :)
