I got a chance to examine the Bomb EVF at last night's Teradek event hosted by Offhollywood. Mark speaks the truth.

It's very sharp ... It's bright. It's even warm.

Does anyone know if the Bomb EVF still takes large round eyepiece covers?

I know guys who have been awaiting EVF's in number for over two years. Those of us who have EVFs and want a Bomb EVF to go with it need to keep some perspective.

Funny thing is, the DP who is shooting a feature on our Red at the moment doesn't even use a viewfinder - prefers the LCD. By the time Red catches up with all the backorders EVFs will be out of fashion.

I'm disappointed that it's taking this long. I was one of the first guys to order a BombEVF right after they put them on the Red store back last summer. Was promised end of August 2010 delivery... Still haven't received anything or heard anything. If the BombEVF deliveries are any indication of Epic-X deliveries, then Red, you've got me spooked straight

Same here. Ordered within minutes of it going live. But I guess there are lots of people who have the old one on backorder. They get priority.

I wonder if this is an issue inherent in the Red philosophy - the concept of ruggedness and high quality, mass produced to a price point. To paraphrase, "Good, strong, cheap. Tell me the two you want and I'll tell you the one you won't get".

Maybe they're just too demanding for your average churn-'em-out sweatshop?
