  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Bomb EVF Shipping

Any guess on when all the old red evf backorders will have bombs in our hands?
 
"Predictions" - No. "Guess" - Yes. :)

I am hoping backordered RED EVF orders will all be fulfilled with BOMB EVFs by the end of this month/early Dec. Hopefully, all backorders by end of year.

What? Are they developing an EVF that is higher than Standard Definition? That would be a big news indeed. :rofl:

I don't know what you're talking about. I received a dozen of them last week. ...Hand delivered by a grumpy leprechaun atop a unicorn.

Just want to let you guys know Offhollywood took delivery of the first production Bomb EVF today. Next week another small batch goes out, we have a heavy backorder on EVFs as many of you know, so those will be fulfilled first. We expect to be out of backorder by the end of August.

We are ramping up production on the BOMB EVF. Simple supply and demand...So, two choices, we can not ship any BOMB EVFs until we have enough to fulfill all the backorders and then do a mass shipping push OR we ship as we have them available. We think most people would prefer the latter as it gets them in people's hands sooner.

Thanks for getting us back on topic, Jay. Like Jarred mentioned earlier, we have ramped up production so quite a few people will be getting emails from their BOMB SQUAD reps this week letting them know a BOMB EVF is earmarked for them :)

Hey sorry guys... We have them.. but we are still waiting for final regulatory emissions passing after we upgraded one of the components. We have been given a 2nd week of October day but don't hold us to it.. this one is out of our control.

Absolutely. They are sitting in our warehouse, just waiting on the green light.

FCC win :) The Bomb EVF is made in Germany, so it will likely be a week before the batches start to arrive on our side of the pond and go through QA. We of course do have some in California that have been waiting to go out as well, and those lucky owners will start to get calls tomorrow....This long journey looks like it is finally coming to an end.... almost :)

One BIG difference....

I didn't give RED 100% of the money up front for my BOMB EVFs.

With lead times being a year or more, any EVF is better than none at all, if only for framing.
When you think about all the Epic and Scarlet packages being built, the demand is only going to get bigger.

I ordered mine few days ago and I was informed that it will be shipped in 8 weeks.

I played with one today again at camalot Amsterdam (they had four delivered three weeks ago) On the plus size is its size and weight. What I did not like; the image is a bit smaller than the original EVF's, the information (ISO, TC ,histograms etc.) is less than on the original one (you can toggle the top or bottom information by pressing the two buttons at the same time ) but that might change in the Epic. There are only two buttons compared to the 3 and knob on the original one. One of the Bomb's I was playing with was way too bright, there is no way you can control the brighness of the image, but maybe you can through controls on the epic ? I'd hope so. Funny thing is that since there is only one company in the world who build these evf's it is probably the same factory that build the Alexa's EVF's.... (no proof , just speculating). I hope that there will be a better solution for the mount; the ET mount which comes with it makes it compatible with the original ET mount is cumbersome and is not ideal.

"viewfactor-esque" nicely coined, and I've already paid for my Bomb EVF in whole, I ordered it within 48 hours of it appearing on the store... and no news yet. Of course I am behind the numerous back orders of the old EVF. Still five weeks to go before years end, may it rain Bomb EVFs (and not bombs !!!) on all those waiting for them.

Patiently waiting, just wish I hadn't sold off my old EVF so soon.
