  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Bomb EVF Shipping

I ordered mine July 9 and I'm still waiting... I think they are still filling the back-orders for the original EVF as I have to be one of the first new orders. So it may be a while -- just so you know.

I have an Date Order Placed - July 10, 2010....Must still be a long way away...
 
My red rep told me out of back order by the end of january so not too much longer to wait, right?

Jeezuz...that is a mammoth wait! That's 18 months!!!!! I have been waiting since they were announced all that long time ago to actually when they might start shipping (in proper numbers) and think they may be getting closer. My main concern was to get in line now before EPIC is ready to ship...hang ups still from the R1 days and what is still be sorted through.

Red has been soooo quiet with actually shipping (in proper quantities) not just new products but replacement products i'm hoping they may have turned a corner. Don't get me wrong you guys at RED, i'm a 100% RED supporter, believer and owner...i just really hope there is a quantifiable shift in the accessories areas and availability. You guys would know this and i'm sure wouldn't like the scenario things are in so i'm hoping, and believing that things will be different when EPIC's actually start shipping and it's accessories from SSD's, EVF's, lens mounts, batteries and toted modules will actually be available at the same time? Having an EPIC slung with accessories from the R1 won't keep it a nice, firm little compact unit at all. If you can quell my concerns that would be FANTASTIC!
 
There really is a light at the end of the tunnel, guys. we are producing them and we are shipping them....
 
missing accesories is what has kept me awake all nights. hopefully , they will be available in masses by the time Epic ships; There's nothing fun with a incredibly cool camera, when the most needed things like an evf or media are not available when needed; so please red team, hope you have find a solution to come up with when it ships;

Agree with you completely. We have learned some hard lessons the past few years and we are not only working on fixing current backorders - but working to make sure we do better in the future.

My guess is that the RED team has been awake more nights than anyone else! :grouphug:

We all know, you (RED) made a big learning curve, and the result we can see in the upcoming camera models and the improving of the accessories...

So we all hope that the long waiting period on the evf (here backorder 7 months as well) is nearly over and what we need to see as well is, that the customer count exploded as well, which is very nice, so be prepared for the next explosion :)

Saw the Cineroid yesterday. All I'll say is that I'm looking forward to the Bomb EVF... The Cineroid is nice for what it is (a low-cost EVF) but it's a far cry from Red's original EVF. And since the new one is said to be superior...
