Birger Lens Mount Reservations

Nano Clamp/Super Clamp

Nano Clamp/Super Clamp

I'm using the Manfrotto Nano Clamp:

Works fine, the Impero screws onto the end and the clamp part goes on the rails. Can be used on both 19mm and 15mm rails. Only (minor) issue is that the Impero doesn't line up exactly vertical when screwed tight but a small washer could be used to fix this. I've just been too lazy to do it ;)

Is the Nano clamp a bit smaller than the super clamp, looks to be smaller? I've got four of the Super Clamps, it works but it's a bit large it seems. For now it'll do, thanks for making me think about these, I had them in a bag not using them and had forgotten them.

OK, so I just last weekend mounted up the Birger and shot a Polo match with my 100-400 Zoom. Insane images! We shot 120 frames/sec and the resulting slomo is just awesome.

So, now I want an Impero. Birger.com website not too helpful...........

Erik, I own webservers and have a web developer on full time staff. If you could use some help with your site, I would love to work out a discount on an Impero!

In the meantime, in any case, how do I order? Do I just call you?

Alan

Thanks for getting back to me Erik,

I have answered you with a detailed list of questions on the issues I'm facing with the stereo setup that I'm still not able to operate properly. Let me know through reduser if you don't get the email, sometimes I wonder if it does not get into spam or something.

Thanks,

Arnaud

Frazier, not sure about the Super Clamp but for reference the screw thread on the Nano Clamp is what goes into the Impero. I'm also guessing the Nano name isn't just for kicks ;)

Glad to have helped anyway!

Cheers from Tokyo,

Paul

Frazier,

The Nano Clamp is a lot smaller than than the Super Clamp. But It works a bit different though. The Nano Clamp has a movable jaw, meaning there's "jaw" moves when you tighten or loosen the clamp lever. The Super Clamp and the ET Speedy Clamp doesn't.

Imperio firmware update ...

Imperio firmware update ...

Any news ?

I received my impero the other day... works great tethered, but I can't get it to work via wireless or even get the macbookpro to see the birger. My MBP can discover other bluetooth devices... but not the birger mount. I've tried every thing I've found on the threads and watched all the demos online. I'm thinking that the birgers firmware needs to be updated since I received it in April right? But I can't because the MBP won't see it.

I really can't afford to send it back to birger... it's in use daily and my income relies on it.

Edit: Just received an email back from Erik "It sounds like the radio in the mount is having issues with
commnication. The important thing to check for is that the mount is
firmly seated on the camera adapter, and that the 20 gold pins, and
assciated contacts, between these two pieces are clean. Be sure to
tighten the larger screws (attaching to the camera) after the smaller
screws (lens mount to camera adapter) to ensure that everything is
sitting flat.

Beyond this level of debug, you are looking at having to send the unit
in to us for evaluation and/or repair."

So... I'll give it a shot and see if that works. Hopefully not creating any culmination issues as I feel I have it pretty dialed in.

I like to give a shout of thanks to Erik for getting back to me so quickly. THANKS

Erik,

I really need to make a phone conversation with you today regarding the stereosetup, I'm in big trouble. Please check out the emails I sent over the weekend or call me to the number I left on your answering machine.

Thanks for your help,

Arnaud

is anyone currently using their birger mount with a brevis35? I'm curious what did you have to modify to get it to work properly.

Canon/Birger/Impero Reservation Holder - Last Call!

If you have a deposit on a Canon/Birger Mount for the R1 and Impero, or just the Impero, you should have received an email from Amy. If you have not, please check your spam folder, or send asb at birger dot com an email. We are in the process of shipping all remaining lens mounts and Imperos on order. It is time to follow through, or take a refund of the deposit. We are trying to get through all of this by the end of the week.

One has to ask why you would want to do that.
because I don't own a Red and bought the Birger mount for my Brevis35. I own lots of canon L glass and wanted to put it to good use. It is a very well priced FF/lens mount/electronic aperture control. 2 years ago when I put my name on the reserve list the Red Rock Micro Canon aperture control didn't exist.

I remember someone else in this thread from a few month ago did the same thing but can't seem to find the post anymore. The reduser page search engine seems to have issues with threads this large and can't seem to search the entire thing properly. I'm dreading having to look through the entire thing manually.

Ah, sorry.

I had some crazed idea of a RED-Brevis35-Birger Combo!

Try a Google search. If you do a search for whatever you are looking for, and put "site:reduser.net" at the end, Google will only return results from that site. I find it often works better.

I'd like to update that Erik and Amy fed ex'd a new mount to me and it works flawlessly both tethered and wired.... what great support!

I love it when The guys at RED support everyone.. Check out this post:

Sony or Panasonic would never say something nice without a 50 page contract.

Way to go Jarred!

Jay

Maybe you were willing to quote this,?

We used RPP's for the meat and potatoes and also Canon still lenses for a couple long shots and for an ultralight rig... Greg literally has every Canon lens ever made, so with the help of Birger mount it was to use his kit.. another strongpoint of the whole DSMC program.

And the shots with the Epic 5K sensor where shot in 4.5k... Imran got it right.
