  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Birger Lens Mount Reservations

Does someone can tell how long is the delivery delay if I buy it today, I have no reservation. Are we talking of weeks or months? Thanks

Well, we don't know. We are all holding our breath that the mounts start to ship today. And if so, then I guess you should get a one pretty soon after you make an reservation.

Quite a lot of drama has been involved, but we live in the understanding the end of the show is just about there and we are all looking forward to move to real life. Of course, unless this is like the Mamma Mia! -movie and once the scrolling text comes to the end, we find it's not the end but instead Abba's Waterloo starts and "we all meet our destiny".

The Birger mount provides a serial application protocol interface for the Canon lenses. This means that various methods of autofocus would be possible not only by Birger but by third party vendors as well.

I built an ultrasonic prototype for the original EF-232 that worked OK, but was not accurate enough for very fast lens settings. Laser would also be possible, but very accurate range finders are actually pretty pricey (the range finders you see in Home Depot are actually ultrasonic designs with a laser pointer for pointing).

I'm not sure who promised what, but the demand is obviously there so I'm sure it will be available.... someday....

Ready to move on now from this thread as soon as possible, I keep checking here for an update, but we're ready to get the mounts installed on our cameras and get out shooting...our Canon lenses on the Birger mount with our RED Ones. Lot's to do..

Waiting, probably not so patiently as I'm excited that we'll get the mounts in this week. Finger's crossed.

Best,

Lauri or Frazier,

Have either of you received any communication from Birger in the last few days?

The agreement we were to send in it states that Birger "shall within 5 business days" provide approval or denial of permission to disassemble the mount.
Has it been 5 days for you guys yet?

Plus, we were to all receive an email... which I have yet to get.

The darkness seems to be creeping in again.

I, too, have sent in my doc and am waiting. I was hoping people would be getting a flurry of shipping e-mails by now--but I'm sure it's coming any minute.

Maybe this thread needs to hit the magic 500 pages before it ships?

Agreement was sent on Friday

I have faith that Erik will come through and ship out the mounts. He has received and acknowledged receipt of my agreement. Haven't heard back as of yet but expect things to happen any time now. I can't imagine that at this point he wouldn't want to get the mounts delivered to as many of his customers as possible as that would generate many more sales of the mount for him.

He said in a previous post that he hoped to push Lauri through first as he was to my knowledge first on the list.

I do think this will happen this week. But only Erik can say what's going on. I hope to be shooting this weekend with the camera/mount combination and my Canon glass. I will post when I get my mount to let everyone know the mounts are being shipped.

Best to all, and Birger mounts for all this week!!! Positive thoughts!

Probably going to ship when the Birger Lens Mount Reservations post count reaches 5000 and the page count 500.

Sorry guys, could not resist !

Well, so do current reservation holders have to re-send their orders again?
wth  take your breath man.. we have much more how to spend our time than doing twice the same.. refrain your enthusiasm or get a life please :mail1:

That might be a good suggestion. However I have more respect for people that try to do things twice correctly than people who fail to do one thing right...

How long is it going to take you to post your real name instead of your handle? I would think you would have figured it out by now.

agreed jay.. no doubts.. just to make a point not exactly towards mr loon's post.. birger mount is not the beginning nor the end of the world as a few enthusiasts (no mention of "fanboyssss" here lol) think at times..

I would say that those that turned crispy highly deserved what they received and furthermore I find most of your "collective" posts inane, pointless and not even a little bit entertaining. Why lurk behind some type of "gang" only to pollute these forums with unintelligible prattle that seems to be your only contribution. If you are a true group of filmmakers I would think you might have something actually interesting to say. If your posts reflect your films then they must be pretty crispy in the sense of burnt toast themselves.

The "filmmaker's gang" could be a group

and I would call them/he/she/it as a Seven-Headed Monsters

(sorry guys/ladies, who else you are, but I could not resist :) )
