  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Birger Lens Mount Reservations

Lets all try to show a little restrain; before the finger pointing and calling people liars. On this thread we are privy to the engineering and development of something completely new... that can and will take time.

I get frustrated too... but I have a sack of potatoes in the basement I take it out on :angry01:
 
im cutting some meat right now..

guys how would you like ure meat? medium rare? what parts would you like?

it takes fedex 3 days to deliver stuff... i'll cut the delivery boy some.. he'll probably get it in 2 days..

i'll put alotta salt on the thing.. once you get it.. make sure you take the first layer off the meat.. you never know with salmonella..

after cutting the top layer... put it on a pyrex dish and stuff it in ure oven for 5 minutes. and ure ready to eat.

How can you work with someone who's idea of a week is infinity ?

I never minded the delays just the inaccurate forecasts.

Imagine sending the mount back for repair ......................................

I'm gonna stick with manual Nikon for the time being.

Real shame.
 
How long will Red take to certify the mount once it arrives? Probably more than a day, probably more than a week. So, let's all take a deep breath. We're in the final stretch.

Realistically only 2 or 3 days of solid testing.. but we were expecting it early last week and haven't gotten any indication or communication when to expect it. I'm sure Erik just hit some sort of snag or something, (or maybe his wife is making him sign 2000 wedding cards heh heh heh... ).

Unfortunately next week we have our own RED stuff to worry about.. BUT... getting this tested i know is important, if not critical, to many, many of you, so it is a priority on my list... if it does show up and i can sneak it into the mix I will do my best... no promises though, i hope you guys can understand.
 
you know erik... a perfectionist who doesn't like to talk until he's finished.... We filled him full of dreams again... If he was a liar he would have gone to the Bahamas with our deposits months ago... He's doing his best and thats all we can ask...

Well i'm up for some advise while we wait if anyone wants to help out.

I'm trying to sort this canon lens thing out. I'm about to update my dslr to a 40d mainly because i want use it as a viewfinder and location/lighting checker etc etc.. because of similar sensor size.

But is there a hard an fast guide to choosing the lenses. Will IS definitely work? I want to go primes. I'm almost in my prime so it fits well. So what is the set to go for?

Any suggestions on this anyone?

actually, if you put together all the canon mount threads it's around 190,000 views. But if you look them over, it's the same 30 of us repeating ourselves everyday for a year.

My nikon mount arrives tomorrow, thus getting me off this board and shooting. Well Dan told me it would arrive tomorrow... If there's one thing I've learned from this board it's not to count my chickens till they've arrived, been installed and don't break the camera.
