  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Birger Lens Mount Reservations

So... nothing until, at least, the 28th? So much for July!:sad:

But, then, again; how much time does it take to see if the mount blows up the camera? Maybe an engineer could skip a coffee break.:sarcasm:

jarred. we appreciate your prompt updates. I'm sure the birger mount will arrive next week. As for the chocolates, forget those guys. after you certify that test birger mount, fedex it to me, I'll send you a nice fat check for $2000.

In case anyone is wondering... the P+S technic mount came in, and it has no allocation for the /i pin cable whatsoever, so they are going back to the drawing board to resolve that issue.

As of right now, the P+S adapter defiantly voids the warranty, as the only way to make it work is to actually cut off the /i cable.

On August 12 I'm back to Vienna from Spain (Formentera and Ibiza) then I'll be on a way to Ottobrunn/München at August 13/14 to re-solve this issue with IMS and i/cable.

Jarred, I am sure you're aware of the following:

"Article 291 of the Criminal Code punishes abduction, arbitrary detention and sequestration, and sanctions perpetrators with five to ten years of deprivation of liberty."

Are you sure you still want to do that?

wow. so a Birger mount should have arrived today. Saturday. man I really hope this all works out.

PS anyone have a solution for follow Focus knobs? if the electronic knob solution won't be ready by Aug 5?

God this thread is a soap opera. Did Erik even send anything? There should be a tracking number and it should have gone FedEX-overnight-by8am-or-I'll-die even if that's $50. This is like watching a train wreck. In really, really slow motion.
 
Let's not freak out. I haven't talked to Erik in a week or so. But remember he was making the small change to the circuit board so the connectors would be the same on both ends so no possibility of plugging it in wrong, PLUS RED wanted to see the complete install procedure, instructions, etc. It may have just taken a little longer to get that together to where he was comfortable - figuring it was better to get it right the first time.

Hopefully the connectors are keyed anyway, so even less chance of plugging it wrong!

I'm not freaked, but don't say something shipped unless something shipped. And if you do then send it overnight AM. Delays accurately reported don't bug me. Improvements that cause delays really don't bug me. Hopefully he added record and ramp triggers to the AUX plug. That would make a couple weeks delay worth it.
