  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

This would be incredible. Even if it required some sort of initial calibration and once you mounted the lens it would read a lens signature and look up that calibration. Then, as you turn the focus knob you would get the exact distance it is focused on--this would be amazing!

I agree -- I don't like battling with extra cable, and my camera has enough of that popping out, as it is. Keep it just right...this isn't something that will need to be reeled in and out.
 
Nice work erik. That setup looks at home on red. Well worth the wait on looks can't wait to test performance.
 
Is this cable passing above the power and drive holes harmless? Longer seems a right choice to me
 
for what it's worth I dont want a longer cable either. I want it to be as taught to the camera as possible. The more slack, the messier it is and the more likely it's going to catch on something.
 
guys.. guys.. use freggin gaffer's tape or something... but for crying out loud dont make any more delays...

long cable... fuck it... lets get the mount up and running... ONE DAY.. when the knobs are out and so is the rest of the shit... yeah MAYBE.. we can bug eric/red to see to the power problems.

but for now.... we want the mounts... last year... im sick and tired renting out ultraprimes for a grand and a half every damn week.. so STOP NAGGING ABOUT FREGGING CABLES. Every extra week costs me another birger mount.. EVERY DAMN WEEK.

LOL! Akube, I've got this ignorant, preconceived mental image of Emirati, and you're totally debunking that.

The cable looks fine to me... loose enough not to interfere with the side ports, taut enough not to droop down and get caught on something. If I get the mount and it turns out problematic, I'll order a longer cable.

In the meantime, please for the love of Jeebus start shipping these mounts!!
