  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Big new release...

Thanks one more time Jim and the RED family, great news

Is it to early to hit the refresh buttom?:wink5:

Excellent news! Can't wait!

+1 to Tom Lowe's questions. How do we get this in the Adobe workflow?

Again a big thank you Jim & Graeme.

Looking forward to putting it through its paces when my EPIC arrives...

:))

Can't wait.

I don't know how it can get better, but it's good to know that it will be better. :)

What will be the most efficient way to move footage from Red Cine X into Adobe Premiere, so I can use Red Gamma3, Alchemy, etc? I am editing at 4K, so DPX is not really an option. It bogs my system down too much. Premiere cannot import EXR. I am on a PC so ProRes is not an option.

Wow that's a tough one. ProRes is usually my go to format for things like that. Too bad I haven't really used a PC since 2009 or owned one since XP or Id be able to help. :-/ DPX is all I can think of but as you said its not practical for your system. Maybe ProRes will be available for PC one day.

If this is not value for the costumer, i don't know what is. True pioneers and innovators, passionate about their products and about improving them all the time. Even with a new sensor on the way, they don't forget their old and current costumers and just keep on improving. I can't imagine what they have in store for us in the near future. I just know I've made the right choice, and every day that passes it just gets better and better. Thank you Red Team, congratulations and do keep this spirit and way of doing things. Never lose sight of this and don't fall on the trap of the "big boys" and have your hands tied because of corporate structure, bureaucracy, over sizing and excessive offers... Don't lose your guerrilla, innovative and quality driven focus!

This will be like having a brand new camera...

Jim

I got my Scarlet-X last Wednesday. Typically electronics are out of date the moment you take it out of the box, yet RED are improving my camera weeks later! Well played RED, well played....

Tom - Premiere can now :)

I have been chatting to the ProEXR guy (he wrote the software that Adobe uses for EXR import in After Effects)
http://www.fnordware.com/ProEXR/

And we have a working beta that can get EXRs into Premiere with timecode! I'll email you.

But yes, obviously agree 9000% that the sooner this gets into the SDK (and Resolve and After Effects and Premiere and Avid), the better!
