  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Big Change...

I think they have learned from everyone's reaction to the 13th announcement and now they have improved. We'll wait and see..
We now know the next announcement could change as well.:)

I know RED can put out some amazing products...I just don't want to see delivery dates pushed back just becuase technology can be improved. That is a matter of fact...we will always be able to make things better and cheaper...

They have this thing called the Red One camera you can purchase now if you like.....

Breakthroughs? Big change? As if we didn't have enough to chew on for the past 12 days?

I think this does have to do with footage from the s35mm scarlet sensor. They've found frame rates they didn't think they could. I think we'll see higher frame rates in all cameras. Could also be the OTHER side. Projection. Red Ray. Displays.

Could also be that they are going with ONE body size, although I prefer the two sizes.

I think this will be the case....all will be Epic size enabling for all camera's to have more frames rates, ramping and time lapse.

But then there would be absolutely no difference between the bodies- meaning that Scarlet would be more expensive- NOT cheaper- because there would be no cost savings on the inside.
 
My guess is something to do with the "brain" size. Perhaps they found a way to get EPIC to fit into a SCARLET size and the rest of the accessories will be smaller to match thus giving one size fits all.

We'll see.
 
Maybe there's a breakthrough in the manufacturing process and we can get the cameras much earlier than expected.
 
How do I phrase this...

Any chance that the next announcement will be closer to locked specs (locked'ish specs?) ?

Well... maybe every aspect of the camera itself will be modular. So you could start at a s35 3k up to 72fps @ 4 to 5 k but if you wanted faster fps, you pay more. If wanted higher resolution, it would come with a premium. Like when you buy a car, you can get the basic or premium package.
 
Maybe they were using all this as a distraction while they wait for the shipments of Scarlets and Epics from the manufacturer. The announcement: A new section of the Red store. They're sitting on pallets full of them laughing at us :w00t:
