  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Beta REDCINE for Build 16...

So is the new Redcine update coming out today still? Is it going to have the ISO fix?

That sure would come in handy, I just finished a shoot and I'm abaout to sip a beer.:weight_lift:

Build 16, amazing results, some great footage.

You can stop asking about that one particular thing. I can confirm that ISO does not work in 108.

Does ISO do something different than Exposure does? I thought they were functionally the same. Or does ISO have a different curve?

I hope it's working in the next build.

Yes, get audio support in there! That should be the next big priority, IMO. Would be nice if the ISO control is fixed soon. Color info into XML would be handy too.

After that, it's on to some serious optimization! I want REDCINE to scream on systems with 8+ cores. Right now, I feel like my systems are spinning their wheels in the mud. All the CPUs are pegged at 80% or better, but using all 8 cores only gets me a 15% boost (roughly) over restricting the application to two cores. ...Or it did previously. Haven't tried with REDCINE 10x yet.

I would definitely consider ISO and exposure adjustment the top priority in a CC/conversion program. Audio can come in a close second, but lets get Redcine up to the specs of the earlier version before we go adding new stuff.

Latest REDCINE runs great on Linux under Wine (perhaps better than build 90?).

I can finally upgrade my camera to B16 now! WoohooOO!

Now I just need to get that SDK in my hands, ASAP! (Wow, I'm needy).

Thanks Jim, Deanan, Stuart, and everyone else!

I've been playing with REDCINE in Wine too - I was very impressed with how flawlessly everything worked, but it was a little slow for me...

It may have just been my computer though - I don't have a Windows install to compare it to though. This computer only has a gig of ram and a AMD Athlon X2 4400+ which is a little slow by today's standards...

Just started monitoring this thread,

Can you explain exactly where in the workflow starts failing. Is it upon "Load All..." of Intermediates. Or is it upon loading the XML construct?

Ian, I can provide some Build 16 footage to you if you need it.

My bad. Exposure adjustment is working, just not ASA. I don't exactly need ASA, I just need a way to adjust exposure.
