  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Beta Camera Build 3.2.8

Super!!!!

Just did some very very brief tests. I noticed on the power menu that it now also seems to tell you the minutes remaining as well as percentage, which is fantastic.

For those curious, the 1K resolutions read in Premiere Pro as:

1K WS = 1280x480 (Max FPS seems to be 120fps)
1K HD = 1280x720 (Max FPS seems to be 89fps)

Fantastic update!!! So excited, Thanks!!!

Is it just me, or does this build make the camera run hot? The fans are spun up higher than usual and the temps are a few degrees up. It must be cranking more awesomejuice through itself!

Stuck on:

UPGRADING ATTACHED PERIPHERALS...

I have no attached peripherals except the TOUCH LCD. Camera connected to AC Adapter.

Stuck for 20 minutes on this screen. What do I do?

Thanks.

Awesome stuff.....

It should be safe to unplug and try rebooting. My guess is that it is having problems upgrading the lens mount firmware. Please open a support ticket.

What was your shutter set for these test..? Also what did you think of your initial slomo test..?

Thx..!

Awesome! Thanks so much. I will install after my shoot tomorrow afternoon and start playing!

Something has changed with the lens definitions. My Sigma 14mm f/2.8 and 300mm f/2.8 no longer function properly. Very erratic aperture behavior.

Is it mandatory that we remove side handles before updating? Don't remember seeing that in the instructions accompanying the last firmware upgrade.

I'm wondering the same.

So, two 'uncharacterized' lenses that previously worked, now fail?

I'd had reports of another 'uncharacterized' older Sigma working quite well in the previous build, and it was reported that the new Tamrom 24-70 worked in the previous build, so ... hopefully RED can figure this out quickly.

Correct. I'll need to roll back the firmware as I need the 300mm for a shoot this week. When I'm back in tonight I'll test all my lenses again and post if anything is funky. Luckily a lot of that stuff "should" work.

Where's that Scarlet list Phil ; )

Thanks in Advance
I'm not at home to check

Been testing it all morning, and loving it all morning. Other than some crashes here and there, the new features are very welcomed! Here is a 120fps test shot with an 85mm lens > http://vimeo.com/41893795 The 89fps mode is nice too and probably more useful, but I just wanted to see how 120 looked. Maybe as a split screen type of thing it could be useful, but otherwise it's very.....you'll see. Cropping into the sensor that far has it's pitfalls.

LOL. Nice!

Any lens that hasn't been programed in the firmware you are "lucky" if it works remember :)
