  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BeSteady FOUR Thread

Just an update: Seems to be getting better. I set the strengths to 60% as suggested and my pan axis buzzing is gone! Still have some small vibrations in follow mode but we're getting close.

One odd thing is that I can't remove the Lock an Load. I removed the camera, pulled that black lever thing and tried to turn but it won't budge. It's really stuck in there! That being said, if this is my only issue, I'll be quite happy.

Once I get this working, I'll make a small video of the steps I took to get it working as I'm sure it'll help other people when they first get their units.

Great - glad you're getting there :)

I think I ran something really small when I tested on a small camera.

Most importantly, where's your happiness factor at now?

Happiness at 75%.

Still would like to know what the group buy accessories are supposed to be. Need to figure out how to power the camera, Paralinx, and FF without having to attach a vmount battery to the back of the camera.

Anyone remember what those accessories were suppose to be? I can't find the list.

The original list is back on page 2 of this thread - but I don't know what has changed in light of the built in lemos etc.

I'm just trying to figure out how to power the Epic Dragon from that 2-pin lemo that sticks out of the base. Is it possible? What do I need to convert to 4-pin lemo for the camera? Does the power need to be regulated? I'm kind of a power dumb ass.

I thought I could plug the 2-pin lemo into this http://mediablackout.net/product/breakerbox/ then plug my FF into the ptap out and get https://offhollywoodny.com/store/power-cables/4-pin-to-2-pin-lemo-power-cable/ to feed the camera from that power box. But... I have no idea if something will explode if I do this. Any suggestions?

Explosions would bring down the happiness level significantly.

Ryan-

Unfortunately, I've had little time to play with it as I have many projects this week that need to be completed. However, I plan on spending some quality time this Saturday with the Beast. I will make a video and post it here with everything that comes with it.

Thanks!

Good luck Marcos! Did you get customs cables and/or any extras with yours?

A Guide to Understanding LiPo Batteries - A must READ

Now that ACR Systems is beginning to ship units with LiPo batteries to the Group Buy, I feel it's important that we educate ourselves with the ins and outs of LiPo battery care and maintenance. I for one am not familiar with these batteries and I am not sure if you are too, then again maybe you are. So some suggested reading for those like me who need it. Click HERE

Awesome! Thanks for sharing Rion!

So what the custom cables constitute and delivery timelines seem to be a mystery and ACR doesn't want to chime in (surprise!) so I decided to buy the 26" version of this cable - http://shop.battlefieldcine.com/product-p/14-00004-00.htm - to at least get me going on doing some testing. That's officially the most expensive cable I've ever bought (shipping and exchange rate suck). Anyhow, once I get the cable, I'm going to start running around and testing this guy with actual footage.

Ouch Ryan. Over the years I have encountered some soft cables and I know the Lemo prices. Their workmanship looks great, but way over priced for the components used.

For another $320 you could just get a DJI OSMO and be done with it :-)

Just got home yesterday night and read trough some of the post here. Wow thats great news Ryan about the unit starting to get dialed in. Let us know how the cable works out. Seems like a good company, and yes Lemo connectors are crazy expensive for what they are.

Kind of thinking I should be getting a notice soon about my unit with only 25 days left in December...

Not to mention the results obtained by our friends in the first batch.

Did we get through the cable issue? Tweaking to get rid of the vibrations?
Anybody have a success story? Perhaps some video to share?

Hey, there's a mad cold running through our household right now so I can't get any testing done. I did get my LCD lemo from Battlefield Cine so I should be ready to go, it's just a matter of putting aside a few hours (That one cable after fees/taxes/shipping/exchange rate came to almost CAD $500 - good God!). Once my litter of kiddos is on the mend, I'll be doing a quick test right away.

Still haven't heard back from ACR regarding the cable issue so I'm just going to run the setup with a vmount battery on the back of the camera. Should be able to push the gimbal to the limit this way. Stay tuned and sorry for the holdup.

Ahhh, and there I was wondering which of the adult beverages you ended up going with! Get well Ryan (first priority)

I know there were others in the wild from that first batch - hope we hear great things from where ever they landed...

Hello,

I have send next e-mails to confirm delivery addresses, so please confirm me those.

About cable packs - we are waiting for external company to build those for us. I'm trying to speed things up, but quantities we have ordered aren't much from their point of view, so I don't have much impact on them but I'm trying nevertheless.

Best
Peter

Can you let us know what cables will be included?
