What Parts in the Old Premium Production Pack not in the Basic Production Pack.
And
What parts in the Prague setup not in the Basic Production Pack.

This will give us a good idea of what we need.

I second that. Especially on the Prague setup.

By the way, the cable that comes with the purchase of the EVF and LCD, how long is it?

And how long is the cable that is currently sold seperately ? I remember it was about 10 feet, but from the visual it looks pretty short.

Any ideas?

First off, not all parts of the Prague setup are listed on red.com, specifically the part holding the LCD and carbon fiber rods, but you can use steel instead.

Other than that, to have a similar setup, in addition to the Basic Prod Pkg you would need :

One, or two, additional TOP MOUNTS, I say one or two, because you could use a UNIVERSAL MOUNT instead, which would acutally be better, to attach the battery.
A RED QUICK PLATE
A TOP HANDLE EXT.
TWO 12" rods
The RED LCD, which comes with a red arm instead of the tube mount shown on the Prague setup
A FF and Mattebox of your choice

And if you don't want to get the Basic Prod Pkg, you need :
A RED BOTTOM PLATE
TWO 18" rods
A SHOULDER DOVE TAIL, OR RED CHEESE PLATE
A TOP MOUNT
A TOP HANDLE

Which any way you do it adds up to more than the Basic Prod Pkg and you don't even have the RED CRADLE !

Cheers,
Damien

BIG QUESTION
How much of this is or will be ready by the end of the month. I am under the gun to know how much we're gonna need to pay the day #76 is ready. Any amount of info will help. (It can be difficult to line up this kind of money last minute so I'm trying to stay a head of the game)

Thanks in advance

"This" being the Basic production pack and ALL accessories.

Here's an idea of a package I was putting together....

1. Red Body
2. Base Production Pack... (I like the one they dropped better)
3. EVF
4. LCD
5. EVF cable
6. LCD cable
7. Nikon mount
8. Arm
9. Battery Pack
10. 2 Power chargers with 4 bricks
11. 2 extra bricks
12. Flash Module
13. 9 CF cards
14. Shoulder Brace

I'm at $31,196.00

I thought there was a Canon mount also...

On the cable length I thought they were longer before also... or was it two different cables listed...

Wondering if I missed any toys... yeah of course... but toys that I really need...

Your EVF and LCD are going to come with a RED arm and applicable cables. So the only reason I can see for ordering additional RED Arms are for back-ups.

There should be so many uses of additonal stuff. It could be a converter, wireless video tap etc...

All I'm seeing is white, as well. Tried both win/explorer, mac/firefox...

Base Prod. Pack Sticky - Images Missing?

Base Prod. Pack Sticky - Images Missing?

Hi. Is there any way we can get the pictures back up in the Basic Production Package Sticky? I am suddenly in desperate need of this wonderful resource.

Thank you.

I pm'd Pixeltv re pics and am waiting to hear back.

This was a great & essential resource for ordering.

Can Red help with something similiar?

Help!!!!!!!!!

Here's how I am configuring my Red Pkg. in terms of accessories.
I'll post it to get feedback and possibly help others sort through the mass of accessories and combinations and configure the accessory package. The cool thing about Red (well one of them, anyway) is that there will be more than one way to do the same thing in terms of mounting and accessories. It's flexibility can add confusion, but ultimately will be amazing.

For Studio Mode

I am buying the Basic Production Package
Adding the 19mm Arri Adaptor.
This will allow me to use the Arri base plate from my SRII package to attach to a tripod. For those of you familiar with the Arri System you know what I'm talking about. For those of you unfamiliar and would like to employ the system, Filmtools has an updated plate here -- http://www.filmtools.com/arri-baseplate.html
Note the notches in the bottom of the Arri Adaptor and the ridges on the baseplate. They fit together. The system allows you to quickly slide the camera off your head. The Arri base plate stays on the head while the Arri Adaptor stays on the camera. It's larger and a bit more flexible than just attaching your head's dovetail plate to the Red bottom plate in that it lets you slide the rig forward or backward for balance. Not neccessary, but helpful

This allows me to attach a 19mm Matte Box -- I'm using the ARRI MB20II
And a studio follow focus -- Any suggestions? I have an older series Arri and would like t upgrade it.

My guess is I'll need the 24" rods by the time I mount the cradle and battery off the back and the matte box and follow focus on the front. Especially when using a longer lens. The carbon fibre rods are now listed on the site -- no pictures yet. I plan on ordering the carbon fibre just for the sex appeal.

That will get me there as a basic studio rig.

But to supercharge the studio rig and leave me plenty of options for mounting accessories and placing my LCD in the optimum place I am also ordering

1 top mount
the top handle extender
a set of 12 inch rods
Four side handles

If you look at the photo tour. This configuration is the second to last photo. Same Matte Box, same Follow Focus.

Lightweight Cinema Handheld Mode

I am adding the Arri 15mm Adaptor
* Note -- presently you can only access the various Arri adaptor plates by clicking the adaptor plate in the store. You will then see the link to the other size
This will allow me to use an already owned Arri light-weight follow focus
And either my Arri Clip-on Mattebox (I think it's an LMB-2 -- the LMB 5 is the newer version) or a lighter Chroziel that I own.

Then add the Quickplate that will allow me to mount the battery closer to the camera. It looks like one of the universal adaptors slides over the rods at the rear and the Quickplate attaches to it. I plan on ordering a few universal adaptors. I can also justify that left handle here for when I'm shooting something ultra-wide and need a bit more front stability and control. Remember the shot from Sharkguy with the Century 6mm?

This rig will work well for Steadicam.
For underslung modes I'll lose the handles on the top. Mount two universal adaptors on the top rails. This means adding a second top mount. Then mount the cheese plate to the universal adaptor and you have a zillion holes in which to mount.

Finally for ENG
I'll remove my Arri adaptor and return to the bottom plate
Mount the shoulder Dovetail to that and I'm set.
My guess is the bottom plate is set for 19mm rods.
An alternative would be to mount the cheese plate in place of the bottom plate. Attach the shoulder dovetail to that and attach the 15mm rod adaptor to the cheeseplate in the front. This allows me to use the lighter weight Follow Focus and Mattebox. This should give me enough room to mount the Quick plate adaptor to the rear for the battery. I'll use the CF module and cards in the configuration.

So that's what I plan on doing.
I'd appreciate any feedback on anything I plan that seems wacky or over complicated. Thought it might help everyone to think out loud.
