  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Backorder Update January 13

Today the deposit was put down. Scarlet-X kit with the Canon Ti upgrade, another 64GB module, Redmote, and the Pelican case. See you at the Open House on 2/29! (The wait begins ...)

My Epic is ready to ship (trade-in for #583). Unfortunately, it will not ship with a Redmote or LCD and I do not yet have the Side Handle I ordered in December. So, once I receive it it'll make a lovely paperweight. I hope some controlling device comes out of backorder soon.

Me three.

Me four.

Received Epic M today, but no touchscreen. Luckily we happen to have a rental Epic X in the office just back from a shoot, so I got to play with the new M a little. Hoping the touch screen gets here soon so we can use the camera!

I ordered my epic nov 30.. I received everything except redmote and side handle 3 weeks later.. Still waiting ..... Was told end of Jan for deliv, but last week was told that probably wont happen and a more definitive would be given to me mid week this week. Have been shooting madly and LOVE the camera! but really could use the mote and handle. Definitely have been having flare issues in strong backlight situations- but i have always been a backlight guy so im ok with it, but have put in my request for the olpf flare guard. here is a link to vid

Received! 1x DSMC Side Handle. Installation is a snap. Now I just have to figure out how I want to program all these handy buttons.

Grip size reminds me of medium format cameras. Really like the jog wheel and menu selection tools. Makes a lot of sense and speeds things up a ton.

The only thing I don't like is the bottom button being programed to eject media. I've pushed that thing by accident like 10 times today - good thing it's all reprogrammable :)

Sure, I can give you another update on Friday :)

The Redmote button problem has been resolved, and they are going out the doors ( as people have been posting )

Jarred

Can you also give us an update on how the evaluation process for stage 3/3.5 is going? To plan? Etc.

Thanks

Thanks Jarred! Those updates do help to kill the anxiety and to get a glimpse of what's going on behind the scenes! Still some way to go for us stage 4 guys, I believe, but would be nice to have an update on the stages part- have you guys figured out the average delivery/evaluation/shipment for the stage 3, 3.5 costumers? Everything going smoothly ?

Just got my first shipment for Red products- love the pirates/skull logo packaging! (EDIT- Just noticed the RED ONE is integrated on the design. Nice tribute there!) Got myself an anxiety pill with the arrival of the red Epic cap- with the red rocket these are the 2 things I can play around with until "Lilau" arrives! :)

EDIT AGAIN- That machine would give me a run for my money in International Track'n'Field...

I understand your pain!!! ;))

Your time will come my friend :))

I'm kind of confused about that Redmote problem, I got mine allocated on December 1st 2011 and it was delivered to my shipping address shortly after, but it's not here in my hands yet (waiting for other accessories to arrive to ship the whole bunch to me).

Does that mean that I have a good chance to encounter that button issue? What if I do? Should I send it back?

nope you are good, bad buttons were flagged as soon as that batch came in. thats what QC and those robots are for :)

Since we are literally hand to mouth with everything right now.. and i am giving you these updates in real time, if one little button or any of the other 300 parts fail, it screws up the dates.

Just keep bugging me for updates.. and i'll keep giving them :)

Thanks Jarred. Have any problems been identified with the side handles with battery connectors? Or were those isolated incidents?

Thanks for the update, Jarred! Although I haven't bought a REDMOTE (yet), it's still interesting to see what's going on behind the scenes. Can't wait for Friday's update!
