  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Backorder Update January 13

Was hoping for the Touch Screen, but just got the shipping notice for my REDmote, good thing I deposited money into my RED account today.
 
Just got email for my RedMote
 
redmote notice (epic X and Scarlet, which body has not shipped, but already got the touch lcd for it) and cage, no side handle though yet, but looking good

You're so lucky! I was at the event too and would love to get the side handle. I got an email for the side handle a while ago, but it was for a second Scarlet and not a handle. :(

Word, waiting on mine as well so I can start getting some footage on the road with my Scarlet Bro here...ordered mine on the third, just a couple hours after my Scarlet order...CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!
 
I got my beautiful redmote it is great and works perfectly. Sometimes guys in the forum make us feel uneasy with many complains about items that are received with somekind of problem.
(RED Motes Enter Button?)
Mine is perfect, as is my Epic and generally all the items I have received from RED until now. I am a happy man!
I will put it to work ASAP.

Not yet. I ordered mine on 8/6. Still playing with a fully functional Epic X (which I LOVE) while I wait. But that plate sure would come in handy with the dovetail QR for my tripod and bolt on for my Gunner! Any further updates on the Assault Plate?

What is the difference between the Modular Assault Plate and the regular old Mounting Plate? Is it just the ability to hook up the 15mm adaptor?

Also, got my handle notification today, score! Gonna be on the road with my Ruby Scarlet soon...
 
Got my Epic M yesterday. I have an expensive brick. :-( No LCD, side handle, or redmote. Hope the backorder status update is still applicable. That would mean they should ship soon. :-) Excited to start shooting. Already love being a part of the RED family.

Yes, that's the only difference. But if you are using a lightweight 15mm FF like me, then the ability to quick release your camera from one system to the next (tripod to handheld, etc...) with the rails attached is a big plus. I also have the Red Mattebox - which clamps on, so everything always stays together. Super simple.

That is interesting, I'll have to figure out which system will best suit my needs, but good to know the difference. Thanks Brian.
 
I hope my Epic comes with a touch screen. I see people here getting them before their cameras. I obviously did not order it as well as the Redmote considering it was part of the stage 3 package. Hopefully that wasn't a mistake on my part. An Epic minus any sort of input control is just a paperweight. Camera shipped yesterday, hopefully the touchscreen was out of backorder like it says at the beginning of this thread.
 
Does anyone know how backed up the orders for the MODULAR ASSAULT PLATE PACK are? I just ordered one today and have no idea what to estimate
 
I understand that I'll have to wait a while on my Scarlet-X, LCD, and redmote.....but I paid for 2 lanyards weeks ago, don't tell me they went into backorder also :)

I ordered one in August, and don't have it yet. (Not what you hoped to hear, I'm sure.)

I received my Scarlet-X last week Tuesday. I ordered on Nov 3 with the package (Touch LCD, Sidehandle etc..)

I did not receive the Touch LCD or Side Handle with the Scarlet. So I can't currently use it.

But you may be luckier, as others have gone out recently with the Touch LCD, or both the LCD and Handle.

I hope maybe at some point this week that either my Touch LCD, Redmote, or Side Handle become available based on dates in this thread so I can use my Scarlet.
