  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thanks for the update. I believe regular updates like these would keep the community anxiety levels reasonably low.

When do you expect the Quad Batt. Mod. & the DSMC Module Adapter to be out of backorder?

So we won't be able to actually order the quad battery module and mod adapter on the 19th? I forgot about those stage 2 packages! Any idea when they'll be available to order?

Thanks, saw that though. I thought he meant that they won't be up for sale right now and that they'd be up on the 19th. Then I realized they won't be so I was hoping for a clue as to when I'll be able to order one.

Things go sideways. tooling comes out janky, one part out of 100 goes into shortage or gets caught in customs and everything stops. we rely on some random parts from all over the world still.. and sometimes they have crazy week or two week holidays where it is illegal to work. So instead of a date slipping a day because of something dumb.. it can slip a couple weeks.

Most companies don't do this.. they wait for everything to be in stock and then start shipping. But even big companies.. like apple.. sometimes can't keep up... like an iPhone that is announced shipping a certain date ends up taking 2 months to get.

We are getting better... I do these updates to keep you guys up to speed on those changes. These are estimates.. not hard dates. Just our best guess if everything goes as planned. Trust me.. its not fun being on this side to tell you the bad news. But thank god there is a lot of good news happening now that offsets that pain.

Hang in there man... we really are digging ourselves out of this hole.

Jared, you guys are crazy. You make cameras that allegedly are not even possible. Never once have I doubted your mission. When I first laid my hands on the RED one in April of 2007 I knew I was dealing with cryptonite. Met my first Epic just before Thanksgiving. It was quite the experience. Any time base desired, frame rates gone wild, raw frames, five pounds, obsolescence obsolete.

Thanks for the update Jarred...does that mean that no Assault plates will be manufactured until 3rd week of January or are you adding an extra fixture to make more of them? Just trying to figure out how long it's gonna take that's all....we've been waiting since august for ours and if it's going to take another 3 to 6 months to get one then I would rather cancel our order and use the money on some of the new RED accessories... :)
 
Thanks a lot Jarred and team! Hopefully will see a redmote and touch lcd end of this month. My other concern was the Scarlet cage but looks like that will be a couple weeks, great to know.

My only other question is of course regarding Scarlet. I have always been wondering if the PL cameras will continue to ship on a separate timeline from the canon mount cameras? I am a PL mount Scarlet ordered mid November, this could be within the month? Looks like an order number in the late 2900 got their PL camera so these are my guesses. Thanks for any insight on this, I have some February projects and would like to not rent given I have invested so much for my own gear.
 
Out of curiousity, it seems there are PL mount Scarlets shipping way more often than EF Ai mounts. Any idea when production will ramp up on EF Ai mounts? I was given the option to take a PL instead by my rep, so my assumption is the camera body is done just waiting on the mount?

Any idea when all the Nov 3 Scarlet-X orders will be fulfilled. Specifically Canon Al mount cameras. It'd be nice to have something to use my accessories with :)
