  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Backorder Update January 13

Not yet... But Jarred has been known to work pretty damn late.
 
Sorry guys.. we are in the process of moving to a new inventory system, so all the numbers are a bit janky. Was hoping to have it cleared up today.. but didn't make it. The dates should get much more accurate as it takes into account all the outside orders not in the direct manufacturing system, plus including parts allocated to stage 3 since we have had some visibility on that progress.. And who would of guessed it, we might actually be able to post a " now shipping orders from x date " by the end of the month.

Good news is stuff is shipping out in record numbers..

Are Titanium PL mounts going out separately (like the TI Canon mount) or are they being prioritized behind the camera body packages?

When do you predict the Scarlets with Ti Canon Mounts will start shipping?

Thanks for the update Jarred. Really appreciate keeping us updated. Looking forward to a more accurate system.

Can you give us an update on the stage 3/3.5 process? Are things going according to plan? Is it working how you expected?

So far so good :) It is going to be useless for me to list dates right now guys.. I would just be making them up. New system, which won't be fully implemented until the end of this month, is going to take away almost all of the guesswork in our "anticipated" dates, but we will start getting limited visibility on what is going on next week.

Remember March is our big "out of backorder month" on most everything.. and everything is on track for that to happen... Including All versions of the Scarlets brains and packages and the Epic stages.

The week-to-week info until then is likely going to be a bit hit and miss... but i will still give them if the info is available.

WOW - that sounds awesome. So if things keep going according to plan for the "out of backorder month", then by the end of March, we COULD (I use that word cautiously), be fully out of backorder and up to date with all Epic stages too? ;)

Sooooooooo hope that happens.

Again, a BIG thanks for sharing - am sure we are all looking forward to being out of backorder, not most of all YOU!

PS - wouldn't ask for dates/guesses, would much rather wait a few weeks and get more a accurate picture ;)

Thats the plan... of course stage 3 is a tricky one because half of that timing responsibility falls on you guys to send your stuff in, but for all the other stages, yes.

Come April, The Red.com store will link into the system and start saying things like 4-7 days or 1-2 weeks for stuff out of stock instead of "nothing" and waiting 4-7 months in the dark.

Thanks for sharing, Jarred. These updates, even if hit and miss, are reassuring and really do help us have a picture of what's going on! I have almost all my ordered Epic support gear allocated or shipped, just waiting for the main part, the Epic X stage 4, "Lilau". March is a very important date for a production I have- that would be a Godsend! Of course, if things don't happen its fully understandable, you guys are doing the best you can and there's always a backup plan. But, man, if this particular project was shot with my Epic... :)

Out of back order on everything so seems to include the scarlet december orders ... Including me :)

Great news. Thanks for the update Jarred. Wish i have my Epic stage 4 for my birthday on February 19. This will be the best gift ever. But until March

 
That is great, almost like live lead times. I am so fortunate to have my PL scarlet ready to ship, this week should be here. Thanks for all of the hard work. And as a side note, i waited no longer than i did last year for panasonic canada to ship and delivery from their release to it being ready for pickup. I have always kept my eye on Red and used it, but now being able to own one is crazy. Communication has been great and all the negative comments which circle Red are not true. This will be a great year!

The only product i have on my order left to ship is scarlet tactical cage. Is this going to be made soon, how far away are we on that? Thanks again!
 
I have to say that I'm not so excited about this post. I have a stage 3 camera tht is unusable. I have already missed out on making money off of it and I have no idea when I might be getting at least one component to make it work. It makes me a little upset to hear that people are getting screens and redmotes when they don't even have a camera. Is there anything you guys at Red can tell me about when my camera might be usable?
 
What are you waiting for Michael, the Touchscreen?
