  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

awesome little find

If I had time I'd totaly make this bad boy into a product and sell it. But I don't have that time. :(

Again, if anyone wants to design and 3d print a case I would be happy to buy a pair to do some remote collaboration with and see if we can use the community to build a few.

not needed. simple walmart 2a 12v to 5v USB phone charger works perfect. I broke one apart, took the circuit board out and made a super small USB power supply....problem is the MICRO USB input is TERRIBLE....so I scrapped that idea and instead went with the idea of using the built in battery, but cutting it out, and replacing with the 18650 cell outside the case instead. works PERFECT. and for a few hours per charge.

But the nicest would be if it ws feed by the camera. like red mote.

I don't like weight. I like the single cell better for power. sure you could use camera with my adapter I made...look at links above on facebook

You know, some people get upset when you bash a product on a forum like this. I appreciate the honestly with your experience. We want solid gear that will last. Make it right and we'll keep coming back.

And BTW Teradak can SUCK IT BIG TIME. they BLOW...terrible product ...never works on set...always have to set it up...re connect it...

TOTAL GARBAGE product, unlike this little cheapo China GEM! :)

You know some customers get very upset when we paid quite a bit for something that is so unreliable but is advertised to be so professional. I won't go any further, but I still like the logo.

Just to get this straight, your iPad is NOT being used as a display. This thing was designed to stream video from your iPad to a TV but it looks like there is another HDMI mini port on the side to connect any other input to it?

Oh, I misunderstood the whole thing, I though it was like Teradek's Rod Clark the cube, that streams HDMI over WIFI. My bad.

Im also missing it, you say you plug it in a iphone or ipad and get video IN on the iphone from the TX connected with hdmi to a epic?? Do you need an app for that?

You can't get video from the Epic to the iPad (the iPad is the playing device) and there is no App. It's just a wireless transmitter and receiver for HDMI. It looks like he repurposed the transmitter. Instead of connecting the iPad to the transmitter he's connecting his Epic. Then he's connecting the receiver to his display. The iPad is not being used at all.

So on the transmitter end, there's a iPhone AND a HDMI input? Or do you use a HDMI to Iphone-input-adapter?

HDMI input on XMTR

Yes it looks like there is an HDMI input on the transmitter, and an iPad plug.

Edit: On second thought that probably is a USB jack, which is why there is a charge button on the side.

The listing says a "dock to HDMI" is included, so I think he's still using the iPad dock input.

That small port is the USB charger port. At least that's what it looks like to me.

You might be right that's what has me confused. I can't tell if that's an HDMI jack or USB jack. He said he removed a battery that it came with, I thought maybe he rigged a USB jack to the battery terminals to power it?

That's what it seems like he meant. But look a the size of the port compared to the ipad connector. And look at the size of the port compared to both the usb and the hdmi on the Rx. It looks like the transmitter only has ipad connector and usb.

I think what we all want to know is: does the Tx have HDMI in?

On the eBay site it specifically says:
