  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

im in LA, about 10 minutes from red hollywood actually. my time stamp is dec 10th for the vlock, the moment it came online and ready to order. actually 14 minutes before brent officially announced it.
 
Though I also switched to a pkg on March 16th, I was waiting because I was under the impression I might receive accessories before the Raven was scheduled to ship since I jumped on them the minute they were available. But since that didn't happen I switched to a pkg but kept all my ala carte orders, in the case I still got them first I was going to hook a fellow reduser up that had a brain and was desperate, hopefully in la that would meet me right at the store. So I'm not that mad because I have nothing now, but it still tests the time stamp system, which I guess isn't working to well.

Ahh, so your original time stamp was way back in September. That makes much more sense. I'm going to add an edit to my initial response.

Looks like we are in the same boat. I got an email Friday as well from FedEx saying they will be delivering a package on Tuesday originating from RDC Irvine, CA. Package says its 12 pounds so hopefully it's everything! :emote_happyhappy:
 
Mine should arrive next week, as my local dealer said to me yesterday.

Really? You didn't even pre-order Raven? So I'm assuming more people who ordered Dec are being allocated? Looks like my order from Dec 7th definitely got skipped as my rep has been AFK for 3 weeks. Is my rep the only person that can fulfill my order? Definitely need to call red on Monday.

i would, but ill choose my battles and i dont even have a camera yet, so im happy people that need it are getting it, but it's just an FYI that there is something else going on other then timestamps that must dictate an order. im sure there a lot of people that ordered on the release date, which was dec 10th.

Maybe my dealer pre-ordered some Scarlet-W by themselves, without waiting for real customers. Or maybe they got cameras allocated faster because they order a large amount of them?
 
That's a common practice among resellers when they learn about new products that they anticipate will have high demand. It allows them to get early spots in the order queue so that they can deliver stuff to customers sooner than if they waited until the customer ordered to place their orders with the manufacturer.

That would make sense if you placed your order through a dealer. I have to imagine many of them ordered batches of cameras just to anticipate the demand.
 
I see, so for next time I guess it's either pre-order within the first few hours / days of release, or pre-order through dealer if a little late
 
We must be getting so close to the brain only Scarlet-w only orders. I ordered on 12/12/15 i haven't had any allocation yet. I emailed my rep and he didn't really give any information where they are up to on the allocation front at all. It feels like an absolute lifetime since I put that deposit down. I've seen people with December 16 orders allocated and some January orders, whether this is because its through a reseller I dont know. Im hopeful for the end of April of the start of May.

Lol, that's not too bad, i got an order for a 4.7 inch monitor since October and haven't had any allocation. People who ordered packages months after i ordered the monitor have already gotten their packages WITH the monitor. I don't know how Red's allocation system works exactly but it seems the reps are at a loss to explain it too. Just have to accept that its out of our control lol.

I feel like we are close to the Dec area, it does seem weird though that some get theirs earlier even though their timestamps are later. My friend told me his timestamp got missed and had to call RED to fix it, so it might be worth calling and double checking your timestamp.

EDIT: Finally got to speak with my rep, he said that he would double check my timestamp and that one of the reasons why some get theirs earlier (even if their timestamps are later) may be because they were Scarlet Dragon owners, and they get a little bit of priority

I dunno about that, Jason. I'm a Scarlet Dragon owner, and I ordered as soon as it was available, Day One for S-W, and I have not heard a peep from RED. Which, for me is fine. I don't want mine until Summer.
