  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

April shipping update

Theoretically - when a Scarlet-W order placed today have a chance to be allocated?

the problem is i don't have a specific date for reviving this camera and i was espacted to get it in begging of March.
if there is a specific date will be better for me to arrange my plan schedule.
but we are only hearing promises from jarred update. i hope to receive my camera as per your promise as soon as possible.

I ordered on Sept 25 at 10am (within first 12 hours) and I have heard nothing about my S-W. You ordered more than 2 months later than I did so you might be a while. There is no specific date I can tell you that 100% for sure. Specific date is the most asked question from what Red Hollywood told me last week and they always say, we CANNOT tell you a specific date because we do not know. It just arrives when it arrives so don't plan anything around it.

I'm in the same boat as you, can't wait to get mine !
but the camera aren't delayed, they are shipping since March, and people are receiving them as soon as possible, according to their pre-order time stamp.
Jared kept his word big time,and has been communicating in a very transparent way through this very forum.
Many people decided to switch from Raven to Scarlet-W (including me), and most of them placed their order on September 24-25th.... so there is a little wait in line ;)

If i may give a friendly advice, you shouldn't put ANY job on hold while waiting for a new camera. You cannot know when you gonna get it, or if there won't be any bug at first...there is just too much risk.
Apparently you already have a Scarlet, which is a terrific camera, i'm sure she will do just fine in the time beeing.
 
Not sure where it was mentioned but is it still true (from what you can gather) that anyone who bought a Raven initially (Time Stamp of 10/24/15) and switched to Scarlet-W upon announcement should have their camera allocation before NAB or is this not gonna happen?

jarred said due to the number of switchers that happened after the april update that it was now unlikely they would get through all the allocations before nab.
if you preordered just a brain you might have a chance but i think they are only past the first 2 days or ordering so far.

I can't shot with my scarlet i need 120fps on 4k, i have two commercial waiting for slow mo , and also one commercial is normal but only one scene is slow motion, i found red epic dragon for rent but its very expensive regarding to commercial budget, 1250$ for one daytenting red epic dragon and if get renting camera i reduce my profit and if i plan to rent the camera i have to pay from my wallet until i recive my money from the client, in my country the business is down and all clint they are not paying as much as the commercial deserve. So from each commercial my income is 3000$ and if i pay to rental camera i will get only around 1700$ profit from each commercial.


Also in my country there's only two companies have Red camera and me and both they have dragon sensor, thats way i have to compete them and take the scarelt-w to be on the same road.

anyway, this is only a short brief to say there's is more also, but i know if i get my camera on this month i save more money.

Hasan,

Everyone has work that would benefit from using these new cameras but until then we all have to come up with solutions. Red is getting them out as fast as they can and you should have a pretty good idea when you will be seeing yours with all the courteous updates they put out every month. IMO if you absolutely need 4k 120fps for ONE shot and have no other solution then the budget isn't right for the job.

We were hoping to catch up with all the orders where people had Raven orders pre-Scarlet-W announcement and then switched those to Scarlet-W by the end of the month but because of the back-order on accessories its likely going to take us another week or so.

If you switched from Raven to Scarlet-W (till the end of next week) and had your RAVEN order in after the Scarlet-W announcement, you are looking at a before NAB ship date.

So.. as many of you that have been notified that your Weapon or Scarlet-W or Raven brain is ready but your accessories are not, it's probably best for me to just lay out what the accessories are in back-order and what the "caught up " date is for them. Meaning, when current orders for these accessories will be allocated. Here goes...

Base I/O Expander - caught up by 3/28 ( monday )
Jetpack Expander - caught up 3/25 ( today )
I/O V-Lock Expander - caught up by 4/8
7" LCD ALU - Caught up by 3/30
7" LCD Carbon - Caught up by 4/15
4.7" LCD - Caught up by 4/5
DSMC2 EVF - Caught up by 4/5
Lemo Adapter B - Caught up by 4/8
Outrigger Handle - Caught up by 3/30
Universal Handle - Caught up by 3/30
Red Station Mini-Mag - Caught up by 3/29
RED MINI-MAG 120 Caught up by 3/25 ( today )
RED MINI-MAG 240 Caught up by 3/25 ( today )
RED MINI-MAG 512 Caught up by 3/29

So... what this all means is that if you have a package order that includes any of the above you can see what the long lead items are. If you have a Brain order with various accessories, you can see which ones are slowing you down You can of course, at your own discretion, modify your orders to things that are caught up sooner to get your order sooner, but that is up to you.

I also just checked in with Element Technica who are doing great now that they have separated into their own production house again, and they are experiencing the same overwhelming demand on most of their accessories. They now have machined all the parts for their DSMC2 battery modules V-Lock and AB-Mount and they should be caught up by the end of next week. They just caught up with inventory of the side cheese plates today so if you have your eyes on those you should get them before they are gone again.

OMODs appear to be on track for NAB as well, Mark will give updates as we get close.

Wooden Camera is doing a good job keeping up... Their top plates are in limited supply and their battery plates i believe are due in next week.

Some other 3rd parties should be coming online soon as well that should help even everything out.

I have turned over the prototyping machines to manufacturing to try and keep up with this insane demand at the expense of having less cool new stuff to show at NAB... I figure taking care of everyone waiting is way more important than showing the world new shiny things.

Does anyone have info about the 7" Carbon LCD? Should be caught up this week. Did someone get the display lately?
 
Hi Guys, i Just pre-ordered my scarlet w last week, it is my first red camera. What timestamp am i looking at ?
