  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

April shipping update

it's simple, dealers have shorter lines than we do. So if they put in a big order at the start of reservations, they get allocated cameras and they only need to adhere to their own waiting list. It's a good move to make if your dealer has inventory and of course we are happy to switch your direct order to a dealer order like many here have done.

Jarred. How are we looking for getting us Raven switchers allocated? Still looking good?

Hi Jarred,

Do dealers get bumped up in the cue because they are dealers or based on the amount they buy? Or are they in the same cue as all us regular folks?

My Raven to Scarlet-W timestamp is within the first 12 hours so I think I should be OK... Hopefully.

Hey Rob, awesome that you got your camera! When did you pre-order Raven and when did you switch to Scarlet-W?

Time out here, remember Jarred's original post stated: "So.. as many of you that have been notified that your Weapon or Scarlet-W or Raven brain is ready but your accessories are not, it's probably best for me to just lay out what the accessories are in back-order and what the "caught up " date is for them."

If your order for your SCARLET-W was Dec 10, you do not fall in above timeline as your camera is not ready. Please, people, don't generalize his statements to apply them to a broader spectrum of people than they apply to. This is for people who we allocated brains - and asked when their accessories would be ready.

Hope that makes sense...

so we learned that caught up on an accessory didnt mean caught up in the production line, but caught up in filling orders, (which was na awesome relief) since the vlock expander said not to be caught up until the 8th, but scarlet-w vlock pkgs were allocated last week. i think that was the discrepancy some of us still didnt get that, but then yes, if you werent in on the raven preorder que your scarlet brain probably isnt ready yet.
so like most of us, im hoping april 8th, meaning caught on a good chunk of preorders, is going to be an exciting day!

I'm assuming all 4.7" LCDs are shipping with cameras before a-la-carte orders? I ordered September 11th, 2015 at 12:02am and very anxiously awaiting this little guy

Hello jarred,
kindly please look to my case, i order raven 30/11/2015 then i swich to scarelt-w into 15/12/2015.
as per your April update i should i get my camera this week or last week and still i did't recive anything yet.
my order Sales Order: SO-0158961 (switch order to scarlet-w)

kindly please check in closer if there is problem or why is the delay. and push the sales
i have 4 commercial video waiting for 5 month to just shooting with new camera.
we have special season in Gulf will start in June and i have to prepare this commercialand get ready, the time is running out and a lot of Business accumulated because of camera delay.
the problem is i don't have a specific date for reviving this camera and i was espacted to get it in begging of March.
if there is a specific date will be better for me to arrange my plan schedule.
but we are only hearing promises from jarred update. i hope to receive my camera as per your promise as soon as possible.

Jarred or Brent please see my case. thanks guys
 
Not sure why people are booking shoots with a camera they don't have. Plan on a rental (or your current camera) and if your Raven or W shows up, great! Ya'll are just screwing yourselves by making plans around a production and delivery schedule you can't see and don't control. The team at RED are doing a great job of keeping us up to date on things, but don't try to hold them accountable for your own lack of planning. /RANT
 
You should have seen the Black Magic forums during the protracted 4.6k release delay. :-)

I still have one on preorder, in fact...I emailed my dealer as I was leaving the press conference, in fact. In spite of getting on board that early, it seems promising that I'll get my Scarlet-W before that arrives, though I'm not planning on actually purchasing it since I am getting a Scarlet-W.

Totally true. I had wanted to shoot two projects in March with the S-W, but obviously I could not. I used my FS7 instead and guess what? The images were really great. It's nice to have the latest Red, but many current cameras are capable of amazing images.
 
I still have faith I'll get mine before MAY 15th. Which is when my new films begins... Plan B of course is under the sleeve ready to tackle if it doesn't happen. :)
 
I would have loved to shoot some recent projects with the Scarlet-W, but it wasn't here, and the show must go on! There will always be something bigger and better around the corner, shoot with what you've got now.
